2015 LTZ Z71.   Recently I have had issues with my touchscreen.  I have cleaned it and done the touch recalibration.   Sometimes when I turn the truck on, the whole time it is on, the mylink screen will respond as if someone is touching the top right corner. It switches screens and you can hear the "beep" sound.  I have tried wiping it down, but it doesnt help. If I turn off the truck and then let the screen power down, when it turn it back on it usually acts normal.  It is like roulette when I go to drive the truck, 50/50 chance on whether or not the screen is going to be beeping and switching menus and acting all wonky.

Has anyone found a fix for this? is there a hard reset?

Same exact problem here. Screen digitizer is going bad.

I tried to buy the part online and replace it myself but it is on restriction from GM. I took it to dealer and they wanted like $600 to replace. I told them to stuff it.

Here's a previous thread related to the same problem.  I'm having issues with mine as well. I bought the truck used and in the last couple days it has gotten really bad! Changes and beeps every few seconds!  I fear that since it's used GM will want to charge me through the roof.

So I have a 2015 2500HD 8” touchscreen, has been changing channels for a while on its own, switching from Bluetooth to XM then voice commands without a word being spoken. instrument cluster would change as well I would change it back to speedometer or MPG and it would change when the touchscreen changed. I scoured the web for solutions. Tried the ground posts under the windshield/A pillars. It seemed to glitch less but after a few trips glitches only once in about 2 hours total driving time which was an improvement. However, the touchscreen has always been problematic and unresponsive at times so I decided to get one off eBay out of a wrecked truck and low and behold the touchscreen works with every touch, unlike the last year. I swapped it in my drive way in about 15 min. Didn’t need to have it relearned at the dealership as some have stated and once again just the touchscreen module. So I’m going to drive it for a while and see if this is the fix if not HMI it is. Side note HMIs seem to be GM compatible across different models and are more so year/package specific. Hope this helps anyone that is having this issue.

Same issues on 2017 colorado.  Screen will make beep noise spontaneously then change screen to sxm channel guide.  Also will change the dashboard screen aswell.   $41k for a truck with new problems every day wtf!!! Also not mention the issues with key stuck in ignition now and again.  Obviously the dealer says that it “did not” occur when they “tried” it.

Another 2017 Colorado with the same issue. Just got it back from the dealer after they replaced the unit. Less than an hour later it is back to the same thing. Gonna have to have it checked later this week since I need it tomorrow.

2015 model here... It's beeping constantly as if it's being touched. But luckily no screen changing. But when actually touch the screen the response time is quite poor indeed.

Any update on this? Mine started doing this a year ago and now it’s every time I’m in the car. My radio has not changed the presets to one station, after he did a reset of them and now apparently didn’t like my EQ settings either

    • If there are updates/fixes you want, you could pay to have the updates applied by the dealer.
    • Hi all - my current truck is a 2022.5 1500 High Country 3.0. I bought the truck used last year. After doing some digging, I noticed that my truck's software is stuck on the original build from 2022. I have no available software updates. I talked to my dealer about this and they recommended not trying to force an update since the 36,000 mile warranty is expired. This is a big bummer since there have been many major releases since that have fixed small issues and improved speed/usability.   For reference, the current software build number is: full_gminfo37_gb-user 10 W158E-W164.4.2-QIH22B-563.3 158 release-keys Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I just forget about it and move on, or try a different dealer?
    • Sure. Buy it for me 🤣
    • Using zip ties but 2-3 they snap due to sharp edges. Just using a shoestring. Last longer. 🤣
    • I ordered the Snap On...waiting for it to come in later this week or early next week.   New front cover, new crank seal and new balancer are on. Water pump, pulley, fan, hoses, and plastics reinstalled. I can move forward knowing all my timing marks are dead on and the front engine is hopefully sealed better than it was. Take 2 with the water pump...trying high temp thread sealer on the lower bolts.   Rebuilt injector and new-new regulator is in, it looks like new. Top intake reassembled and all the bits are reconnected and snugged down.   Thinking about knock sensors again, I located both of mine and, there's your problem, Francis... The driver's side one is broke, plastic is bashed in, part of the wire is bare, and it appears to have been damaged like that for a long time. I saw the wire but didn't think anything of it. The knock sensor might not be my pulled timing issue, but it sure looks suspect. It must still be conducting, otherwise I'd expect a CEL. But perhaps with its sacred crystal inside exposed, jilted and dirty, maybe it's sending mixed signals. So I'm waiting for one of those and a new pigtail to come in. Pass side sensor looks good, except for the spark plug wire resting on it (!). The plug wires are healthy so it shouldn't be causing an issue, but I separated them and added zip ties to nearby looms to keep everything well apart.   So, I'm down to installing a knock sensor AND, oh, replacing the exhaust and cat. I actually think that's going to be fairly easy, it's all bolt-together, all new stuff from Walker is laid out on the shop floor ready to go. Hopefully have this thing on the road again for the weekend.   My luck? It will still be leaking oil, coolant, pulled timing, intermittent CEL for running rich, or it probably won't run at all -- because that's how this project has gone.   I've never worked on a vehicle so ...hurt? ...cursed? in my life. Everything has been effed with SO HARD, but I think...knock on wood...I've managed to undo all the backyard stuff and we're almost reset back to "just" an 80k mile, 30 year old Blazer.
