samckitt Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Was looking through a Flowmaster catalog I got the other day & noticed they have a kit for the 03 1500HD crew cab short bed. It consists of (I beleive) cat back setup, to a dual 3.5" input 70 series muffler & then to a single output side exit 3.5" pipe with a 4" chrome tip. Has anyone used this kit, or those of you with flowmaster muffler(s) just replacing the muffler or what? Also curious if anyone has dual rear exits & not single side exit. Thanks, Scot
Shotgun Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 I have flowmasters on my truck..I have 2 not 1..true duals from front to back..if your only gonna use a single muffler I would just stay stock in my opionion....Gun
OUMike Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 On the 4300 trucks like the older ones, is it true you have to use one muffler for the "dual exahust" setup. I have a 94' 4.3, and was considering doing this. I was told I could only use one pipe.
Shotgun Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Mike you could do it but you would have to add a catalyc converter...Or you could use the single inlet with the dual outlet
95_togo Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 on my 95 i took it to the shop and had a single inlet dual outlet and dual pipes running around the spare tire and out evenly spaced under the bumper sounded KILLER but i had to take it off and opt for a single pipe when i dropped my truck to the ground! i still have the muffler if you are interested make me an offer - i can snap a pic if necessary!
