LKA can be turned off permanently with a switch.  I've read here from others that AutoStop has to be shut off every time you start the vehicle - I don't mind it that much, just takes a bit of getting used to in stop & go traffic.

I assume some drivers don't like or want the steering wheel being nudged while driving.  Plus, I really wouldn't want it malfunctioning and possibly steering me off the road or into another vehicle.  Just takes once to ruin someone's day.

I have both off on my truck. LKA will stay off, Auto-Start/Stop you have to turn off each time you get in the truck.

I honestly like it! It's saved me a couple of times from going into other lanes especially on a big sweeping turn. Worth having on. The only issue I see is if you quickly change lanes, it will force you to stay in a lane (within reason.)

LKA forces you to use your turn signals...which no one does so they hate it. If you don't use your turn signal you have to wrestle the som-bitch into the other lane. lol

Hate all those "Nanny" modes. Yes you can shut it off. Main reason I didn't get the tech pkg in my AT4 even though I would've liked the HUD. Shut mine off day one and installed Autostop Eliminator.

I like it. I find it pretty useful on a two-lane highway when trucks "forget" to turn their brights off. or in fog. It's just a little resistance--it's not like you're going to have to fight too much to get it to do what you want. I feel it trying sometimes, but it really only takes control if you loosen your grip.
