Anyone towing in the 7000-9000 lbs range care to comment?  Debating between this and a Diesel HD - tow about twice a month, with a few weeks of straight towing here and there.
I've towed my 40 hp tractor with snowblower around town, probably weighing around 8000 lbs. Couldn't even tell it was there but didn't do any highway towing with it.

What sorts of towing MPGs are you seeing, trailer weight and type also being noted (ie enclosed trailer vs  flatbed  makes a difference).  I am on the fence between this and the 2500 -- finally got to drive them both but dealer wasn't game to let me hook up the trailer...

I love my 3.0 dmax, towed a trailer around town yesterday, about 4000 lbs, was like nothing, waaaaay better than my 14 with a 5.3. Love that i get nearly 30mpg on road trips, and love all the bottom end this thing has, and the 10 speed is amazing. If you plan to do bigger tires, id try to find one with the off road package that comes with 3.73 gearing.

You sure about those 3.73 gears, I don't think they're available

Wonder what those 3.73’s do to the fuel mileage and maybe better tow rating/payload??.[emoji848]. I know if I had the 3.0 I’d prob check that box.

What’s your door sticker say??

In terms of capacity

Yea the trailer capacity isn’t bad but you can’t do a whole lot with 1500lbs of capacity. I mean our toyhauler has around 750lbs of tongue weight empty, that doesn’t leave a whole lot left, maybe enough for 2-3 people and a tank of gas

Since I've been following this motor I've noticed diesel fuel prices vary GREATLY. In my town it's $2.80 ish, travel 300 miles in the same state and it's $1.64. Deeeng that's a HUGE difference

Do you have the "diesel off road package"?  I wonder why your payload is 200lbs lower than mine.
