Running boards that sit flush with side of truck?

Hey guys,

 

Just picked up a 2019 Sierra crew cab. I've looked at a couple dozen running boards but couldn't find any that sit flush up against the body. Our sales guy said he saw one on a customer's truck just last week but didn't bother asking him who made it. Any ideas if this is real or not? 

 

If it's not real, any suggestions for the best/cheapest flat 6" running boards in black plastic?

Why do they have to sit flush with the sides? Do you want them to be usable or not?

Yes, but I don't see why they couldn't sit flush and not be usable, especially if they're 6" wide. This is more for my kids and wife to get in/out - I'm plenty tall enough just to step in but for them it's like climbing a mountain. I guess I don't see your point that they have to be unusable if they're flush with the body.

I can't tell based on that angle, those look like retracted power steps almost.

Not retractable. They are made in all black too. Ionic 41 series. Really nice for 250$

I enjoy them on my truck but they are heavy. Roughly 40lb each side

 

I was trying to get the Ionic 41 but could not find any to buy at the time.

Thanks everyone - I ordered the Ionic 41 Black's. I'll report back any issues but it looks like what I was looking for, something that butts up against the body and doesn't stick out and away, creating a huge gap between the body and step.

Do the ionic 41 stick out enough that it would protect the side from other people's car doors? Sounds silly but it's my main reason for wanting them. Yeah it will help the kids too but they don't ride with me very often. Also, how difficult was the install? Edit: Watched the install video, seems easy.

I think they're supposed to be 5 1/2 inches wide. I just stuck a 4 ft level up to them and the door is about an inch wider than the step at the body line. They visually are in line with the gm accessories mud flaps looking down the side. The installation was easy. Did it without a jack or lift. Pop out the plastic plugs in factory mount holes. Only thing I did differently than the install video was on the brackets. I only put the top bolt in loose before the step because they sit so close to the body that you won't be able to get the step in the bracket slots.

Here's my Ionic 41 black boards.  Got them from realtruck.com.  Easy install.  Visually they look to line up with the door (talking ding protection purposes).  Maybe they stick out just a little.

Thanks fellas, looks like I need something 6 inch or more to protect the doors. My biggest challenge right now is finding anything for the double cab.......
