Lets talk mud flaps

Recommended Posts

What are people doing with the new model that like to protect their vehicle with mud flaps? I've always put them on, but there are those "things" that came with the vehicle. The one on the front is semi functional but I notices this weekend a lot gets past it when off pavement. The ones on the rear are simply on the wrong side of the tire so I dont know what they are supposed to do? Would it look silly to just install larger ones in front and do nothing in the rear? IMG_20190916_085144463.jpg.7b0b45aff03b5fb9cd85cc88b2837fad.jpg

What's up with that?  I've noticed that they are on the wrong side, too.  What Idiot engineer decided that was a good idea?

I put a set of the GM wide mud flaps on mine.

Instructions are meh and I installed them with some different hardware but I like them so far.

Just realized I don’t have a side shot.  Have to get one.

does $300 seem steep for mud flaps?

Yes, but if you like them, go for it.

I hate mudflaps but needed some on the back to stop rocks from destroying my trailers. So I bought the $40 Husky ones. No drilling, quick install.

Uhmmmm...wow...

$300 for what looks like generic flat mudflaps with Z71 on them?

Wow...I mean it’s your money but you could make something similar with a vinyl sticker set and $20 universal mudflaps.

Yeah I was thinking that was high. Also my truck is all black and I didn’t like the chrome on them. Gatorback seemed like the only company to have flaps specifically made for the 2019 Silverado. Do you know of somewhere I can get cheaper ones that will for sure fit? Or are all mud flaps the same size and have the same mounting system? My last truck was a 2wd so never even thought of having mud flaps or know anything about them. Sorry for the newbie questions haha

Also I like the ones that are actual flaps, more over the ones that are like body molding pieces

Rock Tamers are the best IMO for trailers.

I have Weather Tech mud flaps and use my Rock Tamer when I tow my boat.
