Rough Country LED Grille kit 2019+

I chose to not go with the grille kit, I did not want to cut up the stock grille. I ordered the 20” rough country light bar and was very happy with the quality for $150. Installed it behind the grill and love the outcome.

What bracket did you use for this install. Looks good.

I've had thoughts of trying to design a mount just about like those to 3d print. Temp might be an issue though. Was thinking I'd wire up a relay off of the high beams so I wouldn't have to worry about adding an extra switch...

Mine run off the factory fog light wires with no issue and come on when the high beams are on with a jumper wire.

Well

I got mine installed. They look like they are from the factory the. Way they fit.

Took about 2 hours to knock out. It's crazy how simple it is to get the grill off of this truck. 10 push clips, 4 bolts, and it pops right off.

Need to wait until tonight to see how much light they put out.

Alright, I know everyone wants to know what these lights put out.

Here is a photo of just the LEDs running with no other lights on.

You can see that the lights produce a flood pattern that fills in nicely. The spread is much taller than I expected.

There isn't much throw on these lights so don't get them for that.

They are stronger than the low beams but don't reach out far enough for high beam replacements.

I would have loved if this light was a combo pattern. Floods on the edges and throws down the middle.

Thanks for the pics. I hate to ask but any comparison to stock hi beam output as well? That’s the big one for me.

In general. These lights are an excellent choice for fill light. Hits the edges really nice. You don't get a lot of throw with these to replace high beams, but you can see a bit further than the low beams only.

I would say these lights are kinda like a mid throw fill light.

Works well in findings critters that are trying to become hood ornaments at night.

Caught this guy coming up out of the ditch as I turned the corner. Took his sweet time getting across the road.

Grill took me an hour to remove, get it taped up and cut out using a mini hacksaw and get the lights installed in the grill.

15 minutes to get the relay mounted to the firewall, and route and zip tie all of the cableling up so it looked nice and neat.

5 minutes to reinstall the grill

The hardest part of this job is getting the wiring thru the firewall. I used the plug in front of the door jam on the passenger side using a fish tape to thread it thru. Took me an hour to do that, then route the control switch over to the spot that I wanted it. I couldn't reach the firewall plug behind the battery without removing it. I wasn't in the mood to remove all of that stuff to get to it.

I had a wireless lighting controller as a backup just in case. Didn't need it after all and sent it back to Amazon.

One more question, in your pictures, are the fog lights off when you put the high beams on? Did you mod it so that the fog lights are always on?
