Service brake system

My service brake system light is on I checked my brake fluid it is full what else could it be I drive a 03 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8L

Can be ABS. Find someone who has a scanner than can read brake system codes

A common problem for that generation truck is the ground for the abs computer.  It's located on the "wing" that comes off the frame, just below the driver's door.  There are a couple wires bolted to it.  Unbolt them, clean off the frame at that spot, the bolts, and the connectors on the wires, then bolt them back down and cover with some diaelectric grease to slow down rust a bit.

 

If that doesn't work, then scan for codes.

You may also want to take a look the parking brake to make sure it is fully released.
