285/45r22 tires

Hi I’m looking for a good recommendation for a good highway and also when needEd off-road tire. I love the falken wildpeaks atw3 but I don’t believe they are offered in 285/45r22 that I need. Also like the nitto grappler but they are spendy looking for tire recommendations. Thanks in advance

I have these on my truck and they are pretty good all around hwy, snow, lite off roading. I would buy them again.

How many miles, and how are they holding up for wear.

 

The factory Bridgestone's are maybe 35,000 mile tires. 

 

Coming up on 19000 miles, and mine are wearing pretty fast, rotated every 5000 miles since new.

I only have 18,000 miles on the factory set. Seem to be wearing good. I only rotated once at 12,000. If I got 40,000 I'd be happy  . I always replace them way before I need to. I wish they made these in a 305 45 22  so I can run them after a level . I'm limited in that size to very few choices.

I loved the dueler AT that came stock on my 17 denali with 22s.
I just got a 19 denali and it came with 275 50 Bridgestone all seasons which I will be upgrading soon.
I think I'll be going with the 305 45 terra grappler g2s. Another highly rated AT tire and has the exact same dimensions as my stock tires.

Congratulations on your new truck!

 

I would say the Nitto is going to be a good choice, not a huge fan of the AT's, average at best last year in the snow. Otherwise, not too bad of a tire.

 

I have always been a fan of Cooper's, have you looked at the AT'3?

I wasn't able to find those in 22" size. Ibe heard great things about those.

We put Michelins on our Tahoe last year, Defender series, they are a great street tire, not sure what they have in an off road tire.

 

Did find this one in the Cooper series. Discoverer AT3 4S™

I'm looking at replacing my tires next summer and have been considering the Continental Terraincontact A/T. They are more of a highway tire that has some off road capability.

They seem to have done really well in the tire rack tests other than in the snow, which for me that doesn't matter as I am running dedicated winters. Also come with a decent warranty/road side assistance though u need to read the fine print of course.

Thanks everyone for your input I think after research I wanna go with cooper discoverer r at3 4s 285/45r22 my only question is will they fit without rubbing when turning?

Not the Bridgestone, no offense to anyone. In my 16 years of being in the Automotive/ tire industry I've never had anyone happy with the offroad abilities of that tire in all of its generations. Toyo at2 is a great option that will be easier on the wallet.

Ok thanks for the input how about cooper discoverer at3 4s I think that’s what I’m going to go with what’s your opinion on that tire?

They should be good tires. 

I don't think the bad reviews would sway me one way or the other.

How could you not trust a review by a guy named "Vapour"?

 

Like I said earlier, really like the Cooper Discoverer series, good tires for the money.
