Hey everybody.

just picked up a 2017 Silverado 1500 LT True North Edition today.    came with fender flares, tonneau cover, and step bars.  and only realised after I brought it home that It came with procomp 17" rims and BFG all terrain tires.

I came from a Nissan xterra backround where I was actively wheeling and modifying the Xterra

I will post up some pictures of the new truck in a couple days.  doing alot of reading since i would like to add a hidden winch on the front end as well as a rear bumper with some sort of recovery points ( shackle tabs)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your silverado. I’ve got a ‘17 Sierra, also running on 17’s. Dumped the factory 20’s for some method wheels and A/T tires.

i hope you didnt get rid of the xtrerra its probably better at 4 wheeling than a 6000lb silverado

unfortunately I had to trade in the Xterra.  ended up having twins 3 years ago and haven't been wheeling in as many years. I needed something more family friendly specially when needing to throw bikes and stuff to go off on family trips

so been driving the new truck for a couple days now  current tires are BFG all terrain tires in a 265/70/17 mounted on aftermarket procomp rims.  I am not quite sure on what the  backspacing is yet. dont have a garage to comfortably investigate the new rig

some of the questions is the standard what's the biggest tire i can fit with no lift and with a small levelling kit.  thinking of getting some duratracs in a size that dosen't look like the truck skipped leg day.

Also I have been reading up on installing some additional switches for lights in the front grill as well as some reverse lights.

and I would like to add a front hidden winch but it seems nobody makes a commercially available kit for the 2017 silverado. also would like to upgrade the rear bumper to have Led lights and 3/4" shackles intergrated into the bumper
