Technically you dont have to cut thr OEM plug, but I prefer it to make a really good connection. But yes, you can use the wires coming through the boot.

10-4! So with these ballasts, I can remove the entire morimoto harness, just to clarify? And just run these off the OEM input, correct?

Yes

also btw the thing he cut is the harness to the actual projector, those are cheap, i have 2 just sitting in my basement from my projector upgrade I don’t know what to do with.

edit: actually, i’m not 100% sure on this, it’s been awhile and I just looked under my hood and i dunno wtf I did lol. I remember it being really easy though.

Alljackedup - Just checked and my capacitors/PWM Module is actually plugged in between the ballast and the hid bulb connection. Just as a check, I bypassed the capacitor and plugged directly into my ballasts and the bulb went out on that side.

Whatever it ends up being, I hope you are able to find a solution!

My truck with Morimoto was doing this exact same thing the past 3 months on the passenger side. 50/50 on whether or not it would work. Then on the way home to Alabama from a Christmas trip to Missouri, the right side started burning and smoking and stopped working completely! I know it's the wrong time of year and I'm waiting to hear back from RetrofitSource (where I purchased my kit) but it's not ideal for me either not being able to drive at night! I'm hoping they'll just refund my money and I'm going Hylux it sounds like. (mine have only been installed since April or May of 2019.

I've had the issue of my drivers light not working sometime and it ended up being the 9006 harness extension connector at the factory connector.

They sent me a replacement ignitor (after i had to pay $40 deposit because i wouldnt cut up my original ignitor before they sent the new one) and good thing i didnt cut it.

The new part they sent me doesnt work, its new in the packaging but the old one that sometime works, works lol

So now they want me to cut the one they sent so they can send me another one. They are trying to eliminate people scamming them i get it but still..

Put 12v directly on the igniter/ballast to see if they are actually the problem. That's how I found out it was the harness extension.
