I went to 3 different dealers closer to me to look at the truck, salesman asked me few questions and i told him my situation and what i was quoted (from dealer I purchased from)....every single one said I wouldn't qualify for lesse incentive (have never leased a vehicle) and few others and that it wouldn't be the price when all was said and done....well they were wrong, it was same price as they quoted.....that's why I don't believe in their incentives sometimes....get a number your comfortable with and let them figure out how to make it happen.....I think they can pull off whatever they need to if they want, just have to catch them at right time

Ok guys, this saga may be finally coming to an end. I've got a deal worked out with this new dealer, just over $9k off. Not the best deal but a good deal. It has all the options I want except for all weather floor liners and TPMS sensors, but I'll get those extra from their parts dept. Also, I saw from the photos it has the upfitter switches already installed which is a plus!

 

It's not 100% official yet but pretty darn close. I told them I'd give them a deposit to hold it until I can fly there and they agreed. but their admin team that would handle that isn't available until Monday but the sales manager said he'd still take the truck off the floor so it isn't available to anyone else since this delay is on his end and I was ready to pay. 

 

I should be flying there on 3/23 and then making the 1300 mile trek back to Oregon. I feel good about this, and that's what's most important! I'm not too worried but until they take my deposit on Monday I guess nothing is technically official haha. But all in all, no reason this shouldn't happen now.

 

Woohoo! I'll keep you all posted on updates until I have keys in my hand and papers signed haha.

(But I would not count on flying out of Oregon to anywhere in the next two weeks.  There's a good chance domestics flights on the Coasts are next on the list.)

Yeah I am def concerned about flights getting cancelled out of my control. I "can" fly out sooner but the 23'rd was the soonest flight that wasn't too crazy. Any date sooner than that is $400 minimum for a one way flight.

It is crazy times.  I got a new 43' 5th wheel sitting in Michigan waiting for the hot-shotter to pick it up and haul it my way.  There was an unrelated 1-week delay installing some disc brakes; it was supposed to be here this week.  Now the driver is supposed to be there Monday to pick it up (finger's crossed) but who knows.

yeah I'm actually considering a sooner flight. The problem is finding a somewhat decent price without crazy flight times. I did find a $74 one way flight, but it was 3 separate flights and 19 hours total haha, no thanks!

 

Looks like any flights that would get me there sooner, and in time to get to the dealer before they close for the day would be $550...if before the 23rd. 

 

Amtrak isn't too bad, ~$200 but 26 hour train ride. Eh, I'd rather pay an extra $200 for a sooner flight haha. 

 

@jjackkrash Badass! what disc brakes did you go with and will it be dealer installed? sucks about the wait though.

The dealer is an hour from the factory (I found a smoking deal on a 2019 left over hense the distance) and they sent it back to the factory to retrofit.  Then it sat there for and extra week or two longer than expected.  It is a Riverstone and I think they use Kodiak disc brakes, but honestly I am not sure.

lol...I feel kinda bad for you bro...really, your build didn't go thru and now you have a truck, some stupid flu has world in a panic, I mean you couldn't dream this shit up really.…...idk but ive followed the progress and this is insane really, maybe cheaper flight to somewhere where someone or something can get you rest of way?....I know its not about the money

 

I do know this....the dealer your built the truck from was not gonna come back favorable to you....for sure!.....only reason he would give you that response is price was gonna be higher....if he was he would said deal still stands....when a salesman is vague its usually not good.....maybe the flight will get cheaper during the week?

 

another cpl hundy for multiple hrs knocked off trip is worth gold....train is no Bueno!

really not about money at this point more if you can even get there......this is turning into  MISSION IMPOSSIBLE...and now your Tom Cruise!......deadly virus and you have to make a deadline, lol.....instead of saving the world though your just buying a fancy Truck, lol

haha seriously! saving the world, my world lol. I think I'm gonna book a Friday 3/20 flight instead. $400 and will get me there my noon, which leaves plenty of time to sign papers and hit the road early! Then I can drive over the weekend instead of taking some time off work. And it will give me just a TINY bit better chance of catching a flight before things get even more crazy than they already are. 

 

Yeah I just need to catch a flight, sign some papers and be done with all this!
