6 speed failure

Ok here it is my impromptu 6 speed failure post. I have to do multiple posts so hopefully no one posts in between me typing lol

 

Today we have a 2015 Yukon

What happens is the torque converter fails causing a shudder

This sends the vibrations to the pump, which bolted to the back of the bell housing

The pump then starts grinding into the bell housing case, sending metal into the transmission

You can see the pump vanes grinding into the housing

And gets all into the TECHM which requires replacement as well

In conclusion don’t be neglecting your 6 speed guys!

by the color of the fluid,my guess is no maintenance ever!

This truck has 115k on it.

He uses it like a 2500 pickup. The inside is destroyed with tools and nails and drywall and what have you.

Nope no maintenance! Fluid is dark as sin and burned

And it still made it to 115K?

Tough gearbox!

Imagine what a bit of TLC would have done.

Wow thanks for the info. I should do a full update on fluids for my car. I did it on my truck recently when it hit 45k.
