Our first failed AFM lifter, since these havent been changed since 2007 NNBS trucks, I assume this will be another major engine issue with these trucks like it was in the previous 2 generations, parts are 2 weeks away the new owner is beyond pissed.

To confirm, this failure is for AMF, not the new DFM?

Soon Range will have a plug and play DFM eliminator to market once plugged in its DFM no more. I have the AFM version on my Corvette works great. You never see 4 cyl mode again.

Just so you know that it does not solve the failed lifter design, We see those Range disablers and failed lifters alot.

Range isn’t a scam it does keep the engine in 8 cly mode. It’s not designed to fix GMs faulty engineering when the engine internals blow that’s on GM.

The Range device is no scam. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.

The biggest issue to prevent with the Range (V8) is to keep the engine from switching back and forth and the crappy transmission shifting what came along with that. So, it's more for the comfort of the driver.

Second, many owners experienced less oil consumption with the 5.3L engines.

People buy it to fix their AFM problems, but it does its job that correct

The problem with the range is, it's powered from the truck. Blip! BOOM! (lifter)

That said non-AFM lifters fail just as frequently.

Its not to fix the problem, its to prevent the problem.

did your DFM lifter actually go out?

Can you post a picture?

Whats the year, motor, and trim level that it wend out on?

No they dont see less oil consumption, ...

I did. My 2007 Sierra used about 30% less oil after installing the Range.

I bought it with 160,000km (~100,000mls) on the clock.

My 2013 Silverado with almost 200,000km has no lifter issue. As of yet ?. I installed the same Range device that I used on the Sierra.

And the funny thing is that the Silverado is using less oil the older it gets. No idea why.

Now I get 5,000km out of 1 liter of oil. Still too much IMO for a 21's century truck, but so far it's absolutely trouble free.

you obviously dont get it. IT DOESNT fix the problem there is a design flaw with the AFM DFM lifter themselves. And it doesn't matter what motor trim level it is, I work at a GM dealership

Apparently you don't get it. No one (on this topic) has said that Range fixes the problem, it prevents the problem from occurring.

Post some pics, if its happening so often, then it shouldn't be an issue. From what i know, the lifters are slightly different (internally, harder materials) from AFM to DFM.

What year, model, and trim level did this vehicle have. POST A PIC.

What do you do at the dealer?

Why are you attacking everyone that post here?

Are you for real? IT DOES NOT PREVENT THE PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING. post pics?, I just mentioned that we are doing a failed lifter at my dealership. They arent different stop making things up  and speaking of making things up where did you come up with "they are failing so often "? and nobody is attacking anyone.  Please just go away
