2018 2500 HD duramax. ~15000 mi.

Started getting a bunch of error messages. Clearly I need to get to the dealer. Does anyone have an idea what may be going on?

Brake light is on.

ABS light is on

Traction control is off

DIC - Service Trailer Brake System

DIC - Service Power Steering Drive With Care

DIC - Service Stabilitrack

DIC - Information Park Assist Off (I didn't turn it off)

Here are some pics of the errors. Note, one pic was taken before I filled the fuel tank.

This is relatively easy to troubleshoot. You have issues with your ground cable at the battery most likely. It could be a loose connection at the battery or corrosion in the cable. The corrosion is most likely inside the insulation where you cannot see it.

Everything you mentioned is the direct result of a temporary loss of power. Also notice that the compass indicator is showing CAL. That is another indication of power loss.

I've been getting the service trailer brake message for a couple weeks. I haven't towed a trailer in a year.

This week I did have batteries too low to start the truck. I threw a charger on it on and all has been good since Wednesday until I got all these messages tonight. I thought the battery drained because I left some lights on a couple times and I really dont drive all that far/long to get them charged up while driving.

Is there some way to reset the system? In the event it was just the low/dead batteries that caused this?

Most likely the battery was not dead. When you put the charger on you may have moved the cable just enough to make a "good" connection. You may be able to get the problem to show again by moving or "shaking" the ground cable around. Try at the battery end and all other ends. You should also clean all ground points of corrosion.

To reset remove the ground cable at the battery for a period of time and connect again.

Will do. This morning everything seemed fine although I did get the service trailer brake system message.

Well then we know it's most likely not that software issue that they had with the trucks and the phone app remote start functionality.

My 2019 Yukon also exhibited some strange issues that disappeared a few hours later.  I can't see how anything cable related was corroded because it's so new and lived in a more or less corrosion free environment prior to my purchase.

Just an update.. the majority of the errors cleared the next day.

Last night, the battery failed again and I had to jump the truck.

Took it to the dealer today and just got word that the batteries failed the GM test so they will be replacing under warranty.

Question is why are the 2 year old batteries dead.

Any extra devices attached to truck?

Monitor to obd?  Dashcam? Security system?

Maybe there is a GM relay that has failed, allowing something on the truck to remain powered.

Maybe it's just luck of the draw.

the only aftermarket accessories installed are a ham radio (rarely used) and a LED light bar which I disconnected when sorting through this..   The batteries received a Full charge just before taking the truck to the dealer for inspection and they failed their test.. I'm guessing just bad batteries.

I had a 2012 HD before this one, bought new January of 2013.  Winter of 14 my 2012 started saying bunch of messages.  Same deal, battery specd out too weak.  Replaced and shortly traded for my 15.  This truck is still on factory battery and shows no signs of failing sooner than later.  The only difference, the 15 has spent more time inside during colder months.  Neither truck had any add on mods, or were ever used very hard.  Both were kept very clean and maintained properly.  I agree, maybe just luck of the draw.
