I know what’s in to play on the East coast. I grew up there. I’ll put it this way the governor was screaming for supplies, as they were sitting in a storage close by. Leadership? I don’t think so.

It was designed to start shiiiit with trump!  It was starting to go in the direction of Puerto Rico, but i think Cuomo smartened up last second.

At the latest presser he claims most cases recently are from people who followed the stay at home order. Oh oh. A friend works at Kroger’s. No rampant infections. That proves you can work with precautions.

Repeating that the elderly are the most vulnerable does not reduce the risk for younger people. The division between young and old people is too convoluted  when it comes to managing this pandemic that isolating seniors would not protect the work force.   Several senior living complexes have been hit hard but so have prisons and meat/poultry packing facilities.  Also, we all know a senior who is a model of good health (possibly still working) and a young person who is at high risk.  There are also statistics available on discrepancies between ethnicity and financial status. Ideas like young people can gather in large groups but seniors should isolate could never be implemented or be effective.  When I see people defying social distancing rules, young or old, I see  people who have not had to suffer from a close tragic loss due to the pandemic.  It took me a few years, but I learned a long time ago that I don't have to learn everything the hard way!

the funny thing is everybody is starting to acknowledge that lock downs and social distancing has accomplished nothing, yet I come here and listen to complete suckers spout off about they can't go to the park and telling people how to live. The level of peoples fear is much scarier than anything about this virus.

That's actually exactly what that means. Nothing was intended to be done to stop this virus completely. Young healthy people have a 99.6% survival rate in my particular state. You are making broad statements that have been dis proven for weeks. You are giving tips on managing a pandemic? Were you alive in 1918? You are completely entirely wrong with every sentence that you typed here. Sound like you haven't learned nearly enough, I'd go back to the hard way if I were you.

From what I’m reading. Warm and humid weather no problem. Kills the bug in seconds.

That'll be great if we can ever get temps above 60 up here in the northeast.  We're about 10-15 degrees below normal in NJ.

Yes, true with all illnesses. They’re called underlying conditions. You got them you’re more likely to have a problem.

If you read the entire post you would have seen me mention that the park is now CLOSED, because they didn't follow the guidelines.  I was trying to go to that park, but I can't because the cases spiked in that town and their lack of following the rules is what caused officials to close it.  BTW, I never passed judgement, I simply stated that it bothered me because the town officials warned people that this would happen.  Kind of ironic that you're criticizing me, but you make it a habit of passing judgement towards one political side in a plethora of your posts.

Don't worry about what other people are doing. I'd encourage you not to not follow guidelines either, from what I can tell you are over 5 years old, we trust you, even if the government doesn't.

Ok the timer is running on this thread, thanks to a few members. You're beginning to stray from the topic too often and getting into political bashing and cheering as well as bashing other members. There are plenty of other websites and Facebook pages where you can post some of the things that have been disallowed here. You have no total free speech rights here, read the site rules. Up until now you've been allowed a somewhat long leash without consequences other than having your post removed. Until the thread is closed, warning points and vacations may be handed out as a way to keep the thread alive.

This thread was allowed so the members stuck at home could have a way to communicate a bit through this rough period of time as a community, but as always, there has to be a few people that can't or won't follow the rules. This is why we can't have nice things.

Threads like these tend to make for bad blood between members going forward, thus why the site policy says "NO" to these threads

I don't think people here are saying they're scared to go to the park. They're saying they're not allowed to go to the parks because the parks are closed.

Getting back on track.  Seen a few articles about some studies involving drugs that are having an effect.  Still needs more data, hopefully they find something useful.

So some doctors or scientists made a mistake while they were trying to understand a brand new virus that no one has ever seen before. We're human; get over it.

When I said kids were somewhat glossed over in this covid issue, didn't quite understand this reply.  Was there a problem with what I said?

Suffering from a tragic loss may not have anything to do with it.  Riverside city council (California) revoked their social distancing and face mask policy, so folks are acting in compliance with the rules of their city.

Sweden now 32% more deaths than the US per million population. Much higher than just a few days ago.
