IOR -> IOS/IOT Swap?

I have been thinking that if the IOR cannot be upgraded, what if I replace the head and receiver to the IOS/IOT radio.. 

 

Just a thought and was curious if anyone else has thought the same or knows better to even try.

 

Parts online would be costly but I'm not even sure if it would work. Gonna ask the local Chevy dealer if they have any info tomorrow.

I have been looking into this also. Please dont quote me on any of this. I have a 2019 with IOR (no xm). I want to upgrade it to an IOS would be a pain because anything above an IOR is a bose sound system which requires bose amp. All the wires are different as far as I can tell. But the 2020 base radio has xm without bose system. I dont know what wiring the 2020 has. Not trying to hijack your post. This is info I have come across. Once again please dont quote me.

There is a non-Bose IOS system in the LT w/ Convenience Package II. That is also the standard system in LTZ w/o Bose.

I also have the LT trail boss without the IOS radio...Could I buy the IOS NON Bose and swap it out with the IOR Radio???

I'm in the same boat..Just bought a 2020 and because there is no trucks on the lots here I had to settle with my LT without the Conv 2 package...Have you made any progress with you IOR swap?

The wiring is completely different between IOR and IOS/IOT doable but quite an endeavor.

yep, this is the system i have....

 

you know what i had the IOR in 2019 RST and to be honest there isnt really much difference....yeah a few more features but really my RST was fine.....i do like sirius xm but can get pandora or whatever on the other so

 

I was actually bit disappointed.....actually when driving its hard to use the screen to select things.....buttons are easier

I know this is an old thread, but how deep down the rabbit hole are we talking about? I’d like to weigh all my options and see how complicated each one is to do.
