Ok,

I am old school, 305/50r15 kinda guy.

With that being said I want to put rims on my 2013 1500 Silverado. Problem is I can't seem to find the tire size in a 17" and you can't put 15" wheels on this later model (rubs caliper) what's an old hot rodder to do?

Buy an old truck and hotrod it? [emoji846]

I bought an old truck 92, it was highly modified to the point there wasn’t much left to do. Drove it many years. Sold it recently to a family member. Just did maintenance. These days I’d rather hot rod something older, much less technologically to deal with.

A 305/50/15 is a 27in tall tire, there is no way that is going to fly or work on a 2013 truck. That is too small and you'll never find anything in a 17in rim for that.

If you want the proper look to get yourself like 32 or 33in tires the sizes will be way different.

285/70/17 is a 32.7in tire.

305/65/17 is a 32.6in tires. But this tire is super wide at 12in, so you better have the clearance for that. The 285/70 is only an 11in wide tire.

Tire this big and wide will also likely be LT truck tires, so they will be much heavier and will hurt performance and likely fuel mileage.

If you don't limit yourself to the 17" rim you can get much closer.

20" rim for example 305/40R20 stands 29.6 and something like the Pirelli P-Zero weight is about 34 pounds.

Michelin Pilot 305/35ZR22 is 30.4 tall and 35 pounds.

Neither tire would I run on the front but I expect that isn't the plan.

At 17" and anything near 30-32" tall and 10" of tread is going to be heavy and off road.
