Team,

I’m looking to swap the alum for steel. What models if any had the steel one that would fit mine?

16 Silverado LT

Crew Cab

5.5 ft bed

I didn't think any truck had a steel shaft.

You can get one built though.

whats wrong with the stock one?

if you got a vibe issue, it's not the driveshaft...

ive seen the 2 piece kit, and looks a bit unneccessary if you keep it under 100mph

just take your alloy shaft to a driveline specialist or machinist , chuck it up and do a high speed test, i doubt it's out of whack.  people have been chasing the vibes thing for years, they replace every part.. tires, leaf springs,  wheels, axles, weights on rims, dynamic balance tire to rim, drive shaft , new synthetic trans oil change and still have the vibes.

GM techs on here years ago stated the torque converters fail, and cause further issues into the trans pump.  aftermarket TC with parts not made in CHina or Mexico would be a start,  or you can try a TC from a HD truck  that doesnt have the lock up clutches. it will suck more gas though.. try driving in 4th or 5th gear only, and also try using tow haul. this should disable lock up, and might solve the vibration for awhile. but i would change TC first before more damage is done. your on your own GM wont warrantee this...
