I've officially had an ass full of my 2020. They've now replaced 6 tires to try and get rid of the road shake and it still does it. 2 brand new good year tires failed the road force test. How does this happen? Every time they go to rebalance they have to add a different amount of weight. So sick of I'm ready to trade in and get a cummins or power stroke. The tire shake is just the tip of the iceberg with this POS. Now they're trying to get GM to approve a different brand of tire.

I had the same issues with Michelin's on my DRW. Ultimately, it was a bad alignment from the factory that turned out to be the cause of the shake. Have the dealer check that.

They've all got problems dude.  A brand new Super Duty that is 100% stock can death wobble like an SOB.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjqRf5ck2EQ

It sounds to me like your dealer isn't doing enough here however.  They should get their Picoscope and hook it up and take it for a drive for a full vibration analysis.  It might not be coming from the tires.  They should probably check the alignment as well.

If it really is just from the tires, GM didn't make the tires, Goodyear did.  Be mad at Goodyear for poor tire construction.  A bad tire isn't a reason to trade a truck in.

I certainly wouldn't judge a truck by its tires.  Ford and Dodge make a good HD Diesel truck but neither are as as nice as a GM, imo.  I have replaced  factory tires on my new trucks shortly after purchase since 2001.  Tires from the factory are usually adequate but I find premium tires bring out the best in a new truck!

Wow tire issue makes truck a p.o.s. who would've known? Chill a minute and give it a rest. If this is a major issue in your life, thank God for your charmed existence!

after 11k miles  the  stock goodyears seem to have almost completely  stopped vibrating .

I wish it was just the tires on this truck. With 50 miles on it the the A/C quit working, dealer couldn't figure out the issue so gm sent an engineer in to try and figure it out. Ended up tearing out the dash to replace some module. There was a terrible rattle in the dash when starting on cold morning, found a loose heat shield. USB-C doesn't work. Brakes were squeaking really bad so they replaced all the pads all the way around with a new GM spec'd pad. It's doing the same thing again. Twice I went out to leave after sitting over night and both batteries were completely drained, down to 2 volts. They can't figure that out either. The wheel shake is finally better after 4 sets of tires but you can still feel a bit in the seat. The touch screen randomly goes blank and then does a re-boot and comes back on. The def alert is all over the place. I'll put 5 gallons in and it says 500 miles until reduced power.

Never been more disappointed in a vehicle in my life, especially one that cost $80K

Will never buy a goodyear product ever again here.  We bought our 2012 impala new, drove it off the lot and inside 3 years the tires were splitting on the inside of the side walls, basically coming apart at the point they met tread.  We had somewhere around 40 thousand miles on the tires.  Luckily we did not have an accident with the car, got real bad on wet roads.  The tires slipped bad in the rain from brand new.   There was still enough tread left the tires should have had some warranty left, but NO.  Dealer said tires were not warrantied with the bumper to bumper, and said these were performance tires, referred me to goodyear.  The tire issues on those cars was a known issue and goodyear failed to stand by their product.  Goodyear basically laughed at me, said these eagle's were performance tires, performance tires carry no warranty.  This separation was on 3 of 4 tires.  Not a fluke.  Goodyear in today's world equal overpriced JUNK.

Had issues as well with goodyear 10 ply e load range wranglers wearing extremely prematurely on my old 3/4 ton truck.  Had wranglers on our 2008 awd durango, the factory goodyear tires on it did last a fair life and did not have issues with wobbles or shakes.  The second set of the exact same tires were not the same quality, and they got replaced before they should have needed to be replaced.  Have since gone to nexen tires on both the old 98 chevy 3/4 ton and the durango.  Been pretty impressed with nexen at tires.

Our 2020 2500 came with michelins.  Past experience with michelins has been pretty good.  Hopefully will not be replacing them anytime in the near future.   Will likely go with nexen tires when the time comes to replace them.

Well, you know how it works. . . these days Goodyear seems to be more worried about supporting the BLM rioters and then at the same time banning their employees from having MAGA and American flag masks and Trump 2020 bumper stickers (and lying about all of the above until videos of employee meetings surfaced) than it is worried about making quality tires.

    • Progress... sort of.   Intake is disassembled, spider is out, fuel lines removed. Used a torch on the stripped screw with the lower intake off, much easier when I've got the intake sitting on my workbench, I made it talk. Walked right out with a pair of vice grips once it was nice and toasty hot.   New parts are piling up on my service cart waiting to be installed. Distributor, temperature sensor, new gaskets, fuel line kit, themostat, water neck.   My new pickle is I don't want to spend $600 on a replacement spider. I'm not sure IT is bad. I'm probably splitting hairs. Or it's $300 to send mine away and another 3 weeks of the truck just sitting. I have half a mind to assemble everything with the old spider to see if I can get away with just replacing the fuel pressure regulator to be safe. The obvious issue was the gushing high pressure fuel line which will be replaced. Getting to the spider really isn't that hard, and now I know what I'm doing , swapping it would be a breeze should it absolutely need one. Stupid, or smart?   The part that gives me pause is replacing the distributor. Well, it's already out. And I didn't mark it, whoopsie! Engine was at TDC when I removed it, I know that, so upon correct reinstall the metal tip on the rotor should point to the TDC mark on the distributor because that's where it was pointing on the old distributor. Worst case I'm a tooth off and have to re-stab it.   But then, what? I assume the truck will start. It doesn't appear the timing can be set. Here's the problem: These distributors can't be rotated but a degree or two, by design. What I read is Cam ****** needs to be -2 to +2 degrees, ideally at 0 (and checked/set above 1000 rpm). There should be enough wiggle to get that properly set, but checking the reported value is another potential issue. My Actron 9185 scanner says it supports enhanced GM PIDs and Cam ****** is one of them but it's unclear that I'll be able to correctly see it over OBD 1.5. I can see why people end up junking these things with life left in them. They're an absolute nightmare with tweener-year diagnostics/electronics and unobtanium parts.   Fingers crossed it starts and idles nicely. There can be hope, right? I'ma buy a lottery ticket the same day just in case.   Next steps..DO IT. I have not installed an intake before so I've been reading and watching a lot. Some say NO RTV except on china walls, some say DO RTV on water ports but not fuel/air intake. 1/4 or 3/8 bead on China walls? I think my strategy will be, obviously, RTV china walls with overlap on the gasket corners. Chapstick-style RTV the water ports. Leave intake ports dry. The only set of intake gaskets I could find locally are Edelbrock performance gaskets (uh...for an asthmatic 190hp V6? LOL) so we'll see how they do.   #NoToolLeftBehind. It took an hour, but my recovery mission for my deep 10mm socket was successful. It had rolled down the bellhousing and wedged itself between what I think are the fuel lines? I couldn't see it at all, but with a junk antenna I had laying around, I blindly went poking/sweeping for it, heard it clink, raised the truck, and caught a sliver glimpse of chrome with a flashlight way up there in Narnia. I had pushed it farther along the lines holding it captive, but within access of severely improvised tools, poking and cursing at it to finally knock it free to where I could get a fingertip on it to bring it home.    Not much to see.

    • It wouldn’t have happened if the government hadn’t mandated outrageous fuel mileage standards. It does very little for the consumer. It adds cost. Back during Covid there was a chip shortage. They gave a rebate for your truck if it didn’t have the chip to turn on cylinder deactivation. It was 50$ because at best you may see 1/2 a mile increase per gallon. Splitting hairs each fuel mileage trick wasn’t mandated. The government doesn’t do the engineering work and say use this until it’s already in use and they like it. The fuel mileage was mandated. And those add ons the results. There’s a mandate and they are the results.
