I got my lift set at 9” also McGaughy I actually went from a level kit with 33’s to 24x14 with 37s I have to say I love it beside the gas mpg ? looking about 10-13 mpg.

Im currently leveled with 33's and only getting 14... I think most people here drive mostly on highways, i take backroads and drive in the city. I'll probably be at 10 with a lift haha

So since i tow, i'm thinking i'll need the leaf's which will put the end up higher. On a lot of these kits, it looks like the end is actually lower than the front so maybe it'll help even things out? Any idea how much higher the tail end will be?

Also, everywhere i look, everyone is saying the Bilstein 5100's are the best shocks to get. Will they work with these kits or do i have to buy what they offer with the kits?

Thats not so good. I'm getting 15 mpg on a 9" lift with 37's.

Driving the same way you do.  I hit the interstate once a week if that. Most of my driving is two lane blacktop 55-60 mph. I'm in no hurry to get anywhere.

You’re to cool, that’s why you’re in no hurry. Your tune has helped a lot too.

So like dieselfan1 said boats tow pretty easy. If you’re worried about the sag like I said you can do the add a leaf or you can do helper bags. It really just depends on the stance you want daily. Add a leaf is going to put you up a little higher overall and helper bags will just be beneficial when you’re towing. I personally went with new were leaf packs, they have A higher spring rate so it illuminates the need for the  AAL and they’re taller so you can shorten that rear block up. As far as traction bars go the McGaughys  7-9 just has a really tall rear block so it’s much more likely to get axle wrap. Half the guys I know that have the kit say that they’re a must and the other half the guys I know that have the kit say that to just fine without them.

I’ve got an add a leaf and it certainly does make a difference. Just this past weekend I towed an 18’ trailer OffRoad, building a deer/hog stand about a mile away from the cabin. Highly recommend a drop style hitch too.

Hey Mike
What did you end up getting?

I wanted to get the McGaughy's, but the place im having do my lift said that they were over a month out because they had to be ordered and they wouldnt schedule me until it came in, so i went with the 6.5" Zone lift, with the upgraded fox shocks and leafs, because im too excited to wait haha. I do think the McGaughy's is better, but after scouring the internet, i've found nobody that has a legitimate reason for disliking either of the two lifts.

My appointment is tomorrow, so i'll have pictures Wednesday or Thursday hopefully! Its gonna look amazing!

Good for you. I heard everything is on backorder these days. I mean everything. Inventory I order for my store is a two week wait minimum.
What are you going to run for wheels and tires?

Haha yes, i'll be taking pictures! I currently have the glossy Fuel Assault's on my truck, they sadly have a +1 offset. I'm considering selling these and getting something with a better negative offset. I knew nothing about what i was doing when i picked these haha but they do still look good. I bought 1.75" spacers from Custom Offsets for the rear wheels, they havent come in yet.

My current tires are 33x12.5 r20 Toyo Open Country R/T's. They have around 70% tread left, so i think im going to try and sell these and move up to 35's. I'm wondering if i should stick with the Toyo's or move to the Nitto Grapplers? I want something that looks more aggressive than the Toyo's, but rides just as nice as the Toyo's.

My 37" Ridge Grapplers are wearing like iron. I have 11,000 miles on them and they still look new. I measured the tread and they have wore about 1/16".

50,000 miles is about what they say they get on these. Some get more than that.

Toyos are made at the same factory (USA??) so I don't think you could go wrong there either. Nittos look better IMO.

With those huge spacers you effectively get a -44 offset. So it should have good stance.

Can't wait to see it Bro.

I'm not sure how i managed to get both the front and back pictures blurry haha, i was in a rush.

Here's looking down the front driver side to see how far the wheels are sticking out:

And here's the rear, i didnt manage to get the image dead on where i wanted, but its still easy to tell that the rear is sucked in far too much.

This is inside one of the front wheels, shows what they did with the cables and whatnot.

And they forgot to install the skid plate, i went back later and they put it on:

Rear shocks were upgraded to Fox 2.0's, fronts are still the rancho shocks from the Z71 package. Will i notice much of a difference if i upgrade these too?

Looks good Mike.

What are you doing for tires?

The wheels look good.

I've got the steel Stahl wheel spacers at 1.75 inches coming to help even out the wheels. I like the wheels so I won't be replacing them.

However the tires will be replaced with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They will be 35x12.5r20, but I'm working out how I'm gonna do this. My wife has a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, I might put these 33's on her Jeep and get the 35s for me.

You will like the Ridge Grapplers. Get them bead balanced. And rotate them every 5000-6000 miles.9608880e286dbc88fe6bdcfb40883560.jpg

    • I'm looking at carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand and lumbar fusion.
    • While waiting for parts I have been working on installing the AC compressor, new accumulator, and orifice tube. Also changed out the high side ball valve (original). The orifice tube that was in there wasn't too bad. Slightly dirty, a little bit of junk, but not blocked. Glad I changed it out.   The accumulator, which should have been a 5 minute job, may have just burned $50. Put some PAG in it, wrote the date and mileage on the side, fresh o-rings and gooey'd up the threads and rings with Nylog. Got everything connected and snugged and was going to vacuum down the system, and....   My manifold gauge won't fit on the port. It's not an R12 service port. It LOOKS like an R134 service port but the diameter is a hair too large. There's a sticker on the accumulator that says it's designed to be used with R12 and R134a systems only. So it's not R1234yf. Even if I reduced the diameter slightly with a file, the shoulder on the port is too large so the quick-connect valve won't lock on. I'm stumped. It's going back, and 50/50 on if they'll give me a refund.   Also, I did a fuel pressure test.... Key on, the gauge spikes to about 60psi and quickly bleeds off, like 2psi per second. The fuel isn't going into the plenum, no smell, starts fine, so I'm guessing there's a bad check valve in the pump and the fuel is just draining back into the tank. oh, hell. But, it shouldn't be a problem, pump primes just fine and the truck starts right up. It just means I can't really ever use fuel pressure to verify a leak at the injector or intake.
    • Got this yesterday out of nowhere. Truck is a 25',6.6 gasser with 8k miles.  Only semi anomaly is that the truck had been sitting, uncranked for 6 days. Elec Stability Control showed immediately upon cranking, not while driving. No drivability issues, just the message. Battery didn't seem to be weak when cranking over.  I drove it, killed it, let it sit a few hrs with no avail.  Truck is 100% stock. No damage.
    • This can be done.  It is not cheap and requires an instrument cluster swap with custom programming, new steering wheel with the controls on it, and a special jumper harness.   The cluster upgrade - 12.3” Digital Cluster Upgrade – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The wheel upgrade - Steering Wheel Upgrade Kit – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The column harness upgrade - 2019 - 2026 Silverado / Sierra: Steering Wheel LIN Bus Harness - Harness Dr. - DIY Done Right     The problem with doing all of this?  You pretty much can't have any programming done to your truck that involves the cluster ever again.  The dealer won't be able to program the cluster as GM's system will only pull data for the cluster the truck came with.  So it would be advised also to turn off over the air updates.   TLDR;  Should have bought an LT double cab?  You'd have a power seat, the wheel controls, the cluster, all things that you've been seeking in your various posts so far about your new WT regular cab.
