How could they not honor warranty? curious.

Regarding any issues with the exhaust system, not the entire warranty.  Poor wording on my part.

I welded in a borla S type 3” or 3.5” in/out muffler only. Kept the resonators. Very similar to the gm performance exhaust. No drone. Can only tell that the DFM is working when your outside the truck and it’s idling away. Other than that it’s a nice deep subtle growl till you open it up

Got rid of both flappers too? Do you think keeping 1 or both would get rid of any DFM noise? And I assume no drone means literally- no drone at all speeds/rpm? Thanks!

Yep both flappers gone. From what I can tell, no drone. Outside the truck yes you can hear the DFM. Inside I can’t.

Thanks. Still debating muffler delete or a Borla system...the GMPP system sounds great and from what I've read is just the Borla Touring

Did you just purchase the S-Type Crate Muffler or did a shop have to order the part from Borla? Don’t mean to bring up a dead thread, just been digging through pages and trying to figure it out.

I ordered it through an online dealer in Canada. TDOT. Canada’s version of summit racing kinda. Universal 3” in/out S type

Awesome thanks! When I find the muffler I see two option with offset inlet center outlet or offset inlet and offset outlet. Going to crawl under the truck after work and order it. I love the S-Type growl, just can’t justify the cost of the whole system. You wouldn’t happen to have any videos to hear it would you?

Interesting, I was actually looking at the crate muffler, part # BOR-400843.

For clarity, left the resonators, but killed the flappers, and minimal to no drone, but the sound did get better?

Thanks!  Since I have the elevation, I want to leave everything bu the flappers/muffler.

Update..

Meant to post once I had exhaust done.  I had the Borla ATAK muffler welded in, removed both flappers and had them fabricate about 3' of tubing for me.

It is definitely loud, which I personally like.  Would leaving the flappers in quiet it down when just cruising or idling most likely, but I personally don't find it that bad.  It has a constant rumble to it at all speeds/rpm and when just cruising can be barely noticeable to unnoticeable.

If your not looking for loud I  would suggest Borla Type S for similar sound but quieter, or if looking for just a little punch then the Borla Touring. Like I  said if kept a flapper or both in would more than likely help with the constant rumble if that bothers you, but IMO anyone worried about that should not be buying ATAK's
