Who's got a sled deck (or will have) on their 2020 HD & what length deck?  I've got a 2021 short box coming that I am planning to outfit with a deck but I don't quite know what size to order?  The original plan was to pick a used 3/4 ton short box and put on a 7' deck but The Rona, the truck shortage and used prices going thru the roof messed that all up so I have a Crew Cab 2121 short box on the way.  My issue is that the "short" box is now 6'10" and I am a bit worried that a 7' deck won't clear the tailgate.  I am planning to plow with the truck so I was hoping to avoid having the extra length of the 8' deck hanging off the back of an already long truck.

The deck will mostly be used to haul the kids sleds short track sleds when the whole family is able to go riding so I don't really need an 8' deck.

I put a sled deck on a CC with 6'10" box.   I went for a short deck as well but found there are different length of 7' decks.   Many are too short and there was a space between the end of the wood(deck) and the tailgate so you can see into the box.

I looked and found one that covered the box completely but the loading bar is just shy of the end of the trailer hitch (so it does not make my overall truck length longer).   It all depends on the brand of deck and even year in some cases.   A full 6'10" of coverage was what i wanted.

I have a 7' Marlon Xplore Pro II deck on my standard box. Couldn't ask for a better fit!

I had the same deck on my 2017 2500hd and it sat roughly flush with the back bumper. The new truck it sits perfectly flush with the tailgate curve like it was meant for it.

I did have to modify the headache rack to not hit my rear cab brake light/camera though... the new 2021 Marlon decks have a new headache rack design to address the new trucks with cameras.

I forgot I also lifted the headache rack to be able to use it for work and clear the cab as the new cabs are taller and the top of the rack was lower than the roof

I’m running the 8’ box on a long box truck. Then also added this plug and wired into my tail light for a nice clean factory look.

Must be snowmobile season is coming, I finally got some replies... LOL! The  dealer I bought my sled trailer from can get me a Marlon Deck but I was torn between 7' and 8' models.  It looks like 7' would fit perfect if I can get my hands on one!   It looks like your headache rack fit below the spoiler before you raised it?  My dealer is looking to sell me a leftover 2020 deck which I am fine with as long as everything fits.

The headache rack went straight into the spoiler actually. When loading it by myself I actually slid it in thinking it would clear and it hit the bed view camera that points down. I would try and get them to get you a 2021 model or maybe swap out the headache rack for you to the new one?

If not, I used the deck to drive around a bit before I got to cutting it and lifting it up. The horizontal top bar directly blocks the two cameras in the spoiler (if you have them) which is another reason I lifted it up. I had a piece of 1/2 plywood between the front of the box and the sled deck as a spacer which kept it from hitting the camera/spoiler again and could have been a permanent solution if I didn’t care about the blocked cameras.

Thanks for the info!  I am looking at a couple of different decks rite now, just trying to get all of my ducks in a row before the truck shows up... I did not get the bed view camera as this truck was a bit of budget purchase (as much as a $50,000 truck can be) so I won't have that to worry about if I go with the Marlon.  I like the black sides and the idea of an all aluminum deck vs the quad ply decking on the SnoPro decks.
