I recently purchased a 2020 silverado RST. When I remote start the seats do not heat but the steering wheel does telling me its cold enough (Minnesota) when I turn the truck on and manually hit the heated seats they work fine. Yes the setting is correct for seats to come on with remote start. Its at the dealer and they cannot figure it out,  telling me they will touch base with GM and see if there is an update...

Anybody else have this issue?

Are you sure it's not just the indicator light not coming one?

Not sure about the latest programming, but earlier ones the seat would heat, but the light won't come on....and when the key was turned the heated stuff would shut off.

Not sure if this has been changed for the new style.

The seat is ice cold, definitely not heating while the steering wheel is heating.

If it's anything like the K2s, the heated seats are on the lowest setting when using remote start, and shut off when you put the key in (or, in your case, push the Start button.)  Then you have to turn them on manually.  I only really notice it on really cold days when the truck's been warming for a bit.  Are your seats leather?  Those take forever to warm up.

The steering wheel only has one setting and heats up much quicker than the seats.  That's why it's very noticeable.

How long do you have it started before you jump in.  If you jump under 5 minutes of running you're not going to notice it.  I have clothes seats in mine, leather will definitely take longer to feel that the heater is on

^^^This.  Remote start and heated seats have been discussed at length for the K2's and it's just a fact that while they are turned on when remote started, it is on low and with no butt sitting in it to hold the heat in there is just not much heating effect. The newer heated seats are no where near as good at heating as the older vehicles since they go for more "efficient" stuff now.

No issues.  My butt is plenty warm.

Do I understand you right....the setting IS on in preferences, and even the dealership confirms they aren't working and cannot figure it out???

Weird!

Yes seats are leather, yes the setting is on and yes the dealer confirmed its not heating but they probably didn't let it warm up very long?

I'll try remote starting it until it shuts off to see if they warm up any. That really sucks if thats the case, all my other vehicles warm up very fast and get very hot...

After five minutes I can tell the seat warmer has been on.  Not as warm as the steering wheel.  If you have an infrared temperature gauge to test before you start it and after it has been running for awhile to truly see they're not working.  My 2018 ram definitely got the seats hotter than this truck, but when you turn the warmers on this truck manually, these warmers definitely get warmer than the ram

Ok guys I remote started her and let it run the 15 minutes till she shut off and ran out and checked.  The seats were both heating just not as much as I would like. My previous truck would have them red hot in about 5 minutes.  Im a little disappointed but not the end of the world. The 6.2L 10 speed makes up for the little things!! Haha

Thanks for the help!

If I put a towel or blanket over the seat when I get out the seats are much warmer after a remote start. It keeps the heat loss to air a minimum. I also think it's just like my 2015 and they come on at lowest setting with remote start.

When you remote start the truck and the heated seat feature is turned on in settings the heated seats turn off when you enter the truck.

Hi neighbor!   I’m in Wisconsin.
My 2019 TB does the same thing.
I brought her to the dealer over this.  They confirmed the info the other posters gave you...the heated seats turn on but don’t get hot. Leather here too.   They demonstrated with the infrared heat checker thingy (my official name for it lol.). I agree it’s a bummer. It’s unnaturally cold this year!
