I have an early 2017 & has the soft open glasses compartment too but mine fit in it fine. I didn't know they changed it in 2018. I think they list the same part nos. depending on the options (Homelink, rear glass slider, sunroof, etc.) Mines a LTZ double door, so no sunroof.

I have 2018-19 console on order (1-2 week delivery from the GM dealer) and will verify once it comes in. Part number 84456893. The details show it will only fit 2018-2019 1500s but hopefully it works in my 2017 as pgamboa suggests.

Subbed for results. If you wouldn't mind post the old and new part numbers for people who stubble onto this thread later and for us to know which one we have and what we need. Cheers man, stoked.

Side note I've always wanted the overhead console one with the mirror from the suburban to see if that'll fit.pgamboa any trial and error with that one?

I had 4 different SUV/Truck overhead consoles and could not Frankenstein a truck version with the mirror. Reason is the center plate is different in size. I didn’t want to have to cut/modify anything but the overall console is the same size. The center plate is different.

Damn... Thanks for the explanation Phil!

I have wanted that mirror one in my truck since I bought it, kills me I can't get it but of the 50 million things we can modify on these trucks with other factory parts, center mirror not being one of them I can live with it.

O.P: can you post comparison pics once you get it in the mail? Still curious how big the difference will be

The 2015-2017 SUV OH console with the mirror fits as I put one in my 2016 Silverado.  If my records are correct, the part number was 23161771 but I'd have to pull it to be 100% correct.  Since it's a single compartment, the center panel swaps right over along with the harness.

This is exactly what i wanted. For some reason, my center plate wouldn’t transfer :(. Good to know it can be done!

Maybe my googling skills aren't up to par this early in the AM, but that part # doesn't seem accurate? Or maybe the online resources I'm using don't carry it. Any chance you can double-check? Much appreciated.

So last night I was having the same problem, but a member here sent me an eBay link. I searched the part numbers database and there was a superseded part number. One you can search for is 84083238. Haven’t 100 percent confirmed fitment for this exact one, but it’s the one I will be buying here soon. Good luck

Is this the part # you are confused about? 84456893?https://www.gmpartsxperts.com/oem-parts/gm-console-assembly-84456893

That's the one for the 'rados and 'erras, 2018-2020 era, yes, but the fella a few posts back mentioned using the OH console from a GM SUV...the SUV format includes the conversation mirror (hey now, that's what it's called)...which is what I'm looking for.

I saw that one too, but it's got that tailgate lift knob on it. Maybe I misunderstood @BlkSS but I'm thinking he swapped the entire console panel thingy (not just the mirror and sunglasses flip down). ?

@pgamboa, can you work your magic and retro the knob on this for a pickup?  ?

For clarity, did you swap the entire OHC or just the mirror/shades flippy thing? Also, is that a rear power slide lever/switch on the RH side of the OHC? I'ma say "YEAH" -- the reflection in said mirror suggests 3 panes o' glass.  ?

It's the center panel where the switches and knobs are

@laughey I removed my original OH console and removed the center panel along with the harness and installed those parts into the 15-17 SUV OH console as I removed those parts from it and installed the SUV OH console with the pickup center panel and harness.

And yes that is the switch for the power sliding rear glass.

@BlkSS Ah ha, so it's sorta like Legos! Groovy. Thank you for the details/specifics.

    • New tires are on, Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT's in 235/75/15. $100 per tire, after $10 AAA discount. Plus install ($100), disposal fees, and taxes.   The new tires ride nice. Catch 22, new tires, I love it again! But I feel like I've been through the wringer with this rig, and maybe I don't need this kind of headache right now. Wait until tomorrow, I'll probably love it again and keep it another week.   Never a dull moment: Got a CEL driving to the tire shop, P0172 bank 1 too rich. Oh lordy, really? I've been enjoying an emoji-free dash for too long, apparently. I popped the hood at the shop and I think there was a vacuum leak very close to the intake. Cleared the code and put a bunch of miles on it going home, code never returned. My fix was zip-tying the line on the vacuum reserve ball because the hose won't stay seated. It's either that or the fuel pressure regulator has an issue again or an injector is leaking. See why I'm getting tired of this one?!   In the gas price thread I recorded 19mpg on the last tank in fairly mixed driving and some higher-speed highway (70). I also don't have the lower engine shield installed right now, and that would help with diverting a lot of wind underneath the truck.   Not too long ago, a green '96 4-door 4x4 came up for sale with less than 1,000 actual miles. There was a story there but it was real, and the place wanted like $25k for it. Would be fun to have a NICE example of one of these, but not too nice. The joy is driving them.   That's it for a while...family and social stuff all weekend, no time to play with my Hot Wheels in the garage for the next couple of days.
    • $5.19 after Kroger discount for 87 today. Moses!   Somehow I've already put 560 miles on the Blazer with the last tank clocking 19mpg.
    • I have a 91 GMC SIERRA 1500 4.3 liter. My dipstick broke. Can someone tell me how long is the oil dipstick. Local Part stores do not stock the oil dipstick. If someone can tell me the length. I can match up an aftermarket one. Thank you.
    • Assembling a Word Puzzle   A sentence in a famous sermon says:    “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them".   Forget it was a sermon and forget its religious nature. Assemble the puzzle. What did he say? I'm only going to unravel the part underlined.... Keep it simple and out of the ditch. It's a word puzzle not a religious class. I'm not writing a book. Okay..   By saying that people conscious of that stated need will receive; the implication is that there are also people that are not conscious and thus deprived.   But this one sentence also says that ALL people have this need, not just the ones aware of it.   NEED will try to lead you to satisfying it. You're thirsty, you seek water. You're hungry, you seek nourishment. You're cold, you find cover. Lack of awareness is a choice. So when he says "conscious' he isn't saying simply aware but aware and active in satisfying that need.    That's allot of information for eight words. This man knew how to craft a sentence...   Give that some thought the next time you read an advertisement or a book.
    • My gas fill door does not stay closed. Not sure what happened, but it works its way to about a inch open every trip. Need a fix to this. 2020 Silverado 1500.
