So question about the spray on bed liners. My truck didn’t have it from the factory. Planned on getting a LineX. Noticed the tailgate has a plastic panel on it. Do they spray over that, take it off or just not touch the tailgate?? How are the ones with the factory bed liner done? Is the tailgate sprayed or does it have the plastic panel??

my plastic piece is bed-lined to match from the factory. Line-X should be able to coat it no problem, their spray on liners can go on almost anything.

So the factory sprays over the plastic piece with the cup holders??

I removed mine and just had the tail gate bed lined.

So you lost the cup holders? Or are they stamped in the metal?

I’ll double check for you in the morning

Didn't think anyone needed cup holders on the tailgate, I don't go to sit in the parking lot to drink lol.

It's just a normal tailgate with the plastic. Stuff doesn't slide on it if it's down and I prefer that.

I will definitely be dropping the tailgate and drinking some beers in the driveway. Need the cup holders. Don’t judge me ?

LineX did not spray my tail gate. Left it with the plastic.

Did they ask you or just didn’t touch it? Does it look mismatched?

Have an appointment on Friday morning. Can you share a couple pics so I can see what it looks like?

I have a 2016 but it's nearly the same.

The first picture is 14-18 body style and the last picture should be a 2019+ tailgate and how it looks without it.

My dealer did BulletLiner and I love it. Feels better and more substantial than the LineX I had on a previous F150 from 2012. My 2016 Tacoma had a plastic bed to begin with so didn't have to have a liner. But this BulletLiner is pretty nice. We'll see if it holds up as well as the LineX. They also did not spray my tailgate, I still have the plastic and the cup holders.

And yes, cupholders on the tailgate (as shallow and puny as they are) are an awesome thing I didn't know that I needed, until I had them. Was out at the boat ramp the other day drinking some coffee with my girl and just people watching for an hour before we hit the water. Can't balance your cup on the tailgate otherwise without them.

Order code description says the tailgate composite panel is not sprayed.
