This is the first time the truck has seen snow and colder temperatures, and this afternoon when driving home from work (truck is parked outside on street all day) it was making noise what I  believe to be from the exhaust on acceleration.  No noise at constant speeds or once past the initial acceleration, but every time it would make a noise/sound for a bit during the initial acceleration.  Anyone else experience this? or have a answer as to what it is?

Btw truck is parked inside over night and during drive in to work was normal and no noise.  First time I have encountered this.  Truck still felt normal, no obvious signs or dash lights.  Was in 4x4H if that matters, but I cannot see how it would.

If you drive the truck to me, then I will be able to maybe help. But since we don't have a video or anything to go by there is no chance we would just know what the sound is.

Is it a squeak?  Probably the flapper valve

I  was thinking this myself as well.  Its hard to explain, it sounds like a more of a "swoosh" type of sound, very hard to explain.  It only happened on acceleration and lasted short length of time.  It was definitely not the intake, so something from engine or exhaust.

That is why I asked in case someone else has experienced similar to me or possibly a mechanic who knows what I'm describing.  I realize not everyone will be able to answer for me, but still someone might know what I refer to

No one in the world will be able to diagnose it conclusively by "it makes a sound"

What kind of road conditions did you have to drive in 4 hi?

Snow.  Not driving in it the entire time, but first time I've actually used it for an extended period before switching back to 2x

The answer is associated with 4wd.  Another member posted the same as me, and as I expected other members had experienced just as I was describing.  Good to know its nothing serious.

Yeah this is because your truck is in 4H. When mine is in 4-Auto and I accelerate harder than normal, I hear this added noise.

The cold only accentuates the noise, too. I've noticed my exhaust in general is louder when it's under 40º.

That was the next think I was curious about, if there would be any difference between 4H vs 4Auto.  Good to know I should expect the same.
