Tramissiom shift different when cold

Bought a 99 chevy silv. First thing in the moring when its cold the trans. shifts different then when its warm is this normal,when it gets to about 175 degress it shifts perfect.

That is normal. The tranny stays in lower gears longer when cold to allow engine to reach normal operating temperature sooner.

Exactly, we've got a street across from city hall where she'll hold the gear just about 30 going up the street on the way home from work until she warms up or you really hammer it to force the shift.

Normal. It helps the tranny warm up quicker.
