Wireless android auto

Just had a loaner 2021 Camaro SS while my trucks in the shop. I noticed this one had wireless Android auto. Ive never ever seen that in any vehicle before. I always read there was something with the speed of it that made it unreliable. I used this one for music and google maps it was super smooth. I know there was an update for my trucks radio a few weeks ago and now im curious to get mine back and see if i somehow just didnt notice it. 

 

Anyone else have wireless??

It does not come via a software update so if you didn’t have it before, you won’t now. Only 2021 model year trucks with 8” mid-level and up-level infotainment systems get it from the factory.

It requires different hardware. 

 

For 2021 Silverado it's Standard on LTZ and HC, optional on 1LT version of LT, RST and LTTB (where it is optional it's part of a package.)

On Sierra it's standard on SLT, AT4 and Denali. Optional on SLE and the 3SB version of Elevation.

 

Other trims it is not available. 

 

IOR is 8" and doesn't have wireless CP/AA

IOS also 8" does have wireless CP/AA capability

IOT 8" and adds navigation to the IOS 

 

Of course wireless phone projection also requires a phone with that capability.
