Well, finally replaced my 2003 Avalanche. 21 LT Trail Boss. 5.3/10 speed. Crew Cab, Standard Bed + Multiflex gate. Had to special order it to get the standard bed but very happy so far.

Couple of small issues:

1) Had an intermittent flashing CEL twice in first two days. Dealer couldn't find any codes. So document and monitor. The service advisor tried to blame it on my "aftermarket CAI". I had to explain to him that it was the factory performance CAI. LOL.

2) Grill emblem loose on one side. Not sure if it emblem or grill. Will deal with it later.

3) Factory off-road steps not available so ordered so Go Rhino dominators. Look great but sit too far under truck. Not enough surface sticking out for wife to get her foot on.

4) ARE not expected to have a cap for Chevrolet with Multi-Flex for at least 6 months. GMC/Multipro will not fit.

Nice truck, and welcome to the forum! I haven't seen a TB with the new multipro taligate yet. Mind putting a picture up just of that?

Beautiful truck and color. Congrats on the new ride. I have the standard bed as well. You will love it. Kinda awkward looking at first when I got it because my last 4 trucks had short beds but functionality is awesome and I’m used to it now. Agree with @econometrics  let’s see pics of the tailgate. I’m envious!!!  Want that tailgate.

Nice truck.

The intake.  Was it already installed on the truck when you got it or did you install it?  If so, either way, did the dealer do the reprogramming required when installing the factory CAI?  Or if you installed the CAI yourself, did you take it in and have them flash it?  In the box there is an authorization code that the dealer phones in to GM with and they then issue an ECM calibration for it.

Weird that the cap isn't the same for the Multiflex and the Multipro.

Thanks. Did not know about the authorization code. The truck was ordered from the factory with the performance package (exhaust and CAI) installed. I do not know if that means it came with them in a box with the truck or installed from the factory. The salesman mentioned something about the dealership installing the exhaust??? I would assume that the dealership would have done the ECM calibration. How do I check this?

The dealer would have to look at their repair order records from when the truck was PDI'd.  Technician should have stapled a copy of the warranty code for the reprogramming.

Thanks. I called the dealership and they are checking for me. What would be the effect on the truck if they failed to do the reprogramming? Would it even be noticeable?

Might induce a check engine light and codes.  I would have them look at the light as there will be codes stored in the truck from when it flashed on you first and then maybe bring up the intake.
