I have a 2015  (bought new) CC 4x4 with 5.3 SLT

my screen has been jumping around
ie. nav screen will change my location and I have to reset it each time. I thought it was only the navigation screen  but now when my radio screen is on it will begin scrolling channels (but not changing the actual station).
do I need a software update, new battery  or something worse?

Thanks In advance for your response!

I read a post on here about bad grounds between the cab chassis and the instrument panel.  According the the pictures, there should be ground wires near the lower corners of the windshield (next to the speakers).  When the cabs were being assembled, the ground wires went on top of sealant instead of under it.  It sounds like you might have that type of problem.

Thank you

I will be checking these connections.

I saw another post stating it could be as simple as a low charging battery ( which I do kinda have) My

battery gauge shows about 11-12 and I think it should be 13+.
thanks again

Original battery?

The gauge will fluctuate depending on the draw from the battery needed. Accessories being used, speed and a fully charged battery will make the gauge move around, just normal with the K2's.

Not original battery - second battery

first battery died at 50k

I have 75k now

looking for an access point to check the ground wire in dash. Remove speaker?

Some people experience ground problems. Personally I’ve had a battery due crazy things with my electronics when going bad. Even on older vehicles.

You have to pull the pillar covers off then the whole top of the dash pops right off

Search the forum for "G218 Ground".  There is a thread with a video in it showing you exactly how to fix it.  There is also a similar ground on the passenger side that I would do at the same time while you have the top of the dash off.

I finally got the jumpy screen resolved.

I had to replace the digitizer screen. Cost about $300 and took about 45 minutes and was fairly easy

Glad to have this issue behind me

2 weeks in ~ so far everything is great.
