Liquid Plumber AT4 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I have a 2021 gmc sierra 1500 AT4 with stock 18" wheels and tires. Im taking those off and putting on fuel 20" wheels and 28t/60r20 toyo at3 tires with new factory TPMS sensors. My question is the factory tires call for 35 psi and toyo said for the new 285/60r20 tires for my model truck takes 42 psi.....so before I relearn the new TPMS sensors should I set the psi in the new tires to 42 psi?...and not the factory psi of 35??. Im guessing yes to set thrm to the new 42 psi setting, but im no mechanic, just a dumb plumber....haha.
Z06JPB Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 It doesn’t matter. The dealer (or you if you have a TPMS relearn tool) can sync the sensors no matter what the tire pressure is at. Just add/remove air as necessary to get to 42psi. Also, since you are adding new TPMS sensors, make sure you buy the correct sensors as there is 315mHz and 433mHz frequency sensors. They are not interchangeable. Your dealer can tell you which you need.

Any suggestions on a good relearn tool for a 2021 gmc sierra 1500 at4? Id like yo get one to be able to do it myself. Thanks again!
SVG Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 This is the TPMS tool I bought and it worked like a champ. No affiliation with the merchant. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254837915103
WeGone Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 Bit off topic, but do you need a relearn tool when rotating tires?
