Time Chain Replacement, when?

Recommended Posts

Only when it needs it. I know it is a vague answer but for the most part timing chain issues are just not an issue anymore.  There are trucks out there with 300k on the original timing chain.  Keep up with a high quality oil change and be worry free.  My 2002 had 200k on it when I sold it and ran great. No issues other than having to rebuild the alternator at 145k.
