Tow mirrors

I have a 2016 silverado and want to put tow mirrors on it . My question is if I got a set that had the turn signals on ( mine don't) would the signals work or are the connections different ??

You will need a new harness. A member here specializes in these harnesses and makes it a breeze to swap out the mirrors to tow mirrors. I used his harnesses when I did mine. Plug and play...

Don't get too hung up on the almost $300 price. When you remove the old harnesses, send those in and you will get $100 back.

Welcome to the site.

 

Simple answer, yes they are completely different wiring harnesses for the mirrors. Most of the functions on the tow mirrors would not work with your trucks harness.

There is a lower cost DIY Kit if you want to modify your door harnesses yourself.

I am going to try this harness. A lot cheaper and worth the risk imo. I can wire lume and add grommets for less than $100.

Also going to try the ebay special switchback mirrors for $250 vs the Boost Auto $1000 mirrors. I can't blow $500+ on mirrors, doesn't make sense to me

My install was a success and I saved quite a bit of money. I paid $240 for the mirrors and $10 for 10 DSQ 1.5 terminals from Mouser Electrics. I followed Texas Auto mirrors video and just finished the install a few minutes ago. About 1 hour 30 minutes total.

Debating on pulling the trigger. If I already have DL3s would I need the new harness, or would these be PnP?

 

Would these still utilize the auto reverse tilt for the power flat glass?

You'll still need a new harness or look at what @dieselfan1 did.

Also, check out @pgamboa , he has harness options.
It's definitely not plug and play.
