Do you have to use the spray to keep it running? Will it run on its own once it is started?

Can you confirm fuel pressure at the test port?

Yes it starts when I spray starting fluid, havnt cchecked the pressure though.but has a new fuel pump

When you stop spraying the starting fluid does it die?

Really sounds like no fuel from the injectors.

A fuel pressure gauge on the test port would answer a bunch of questions.

Cycle the key from off to run a few times, then kit the schrader valve, fuel should spray out (not dribble). If it doesn't the new fuel pump isn't pumping. Check power to pump or lines for blockage.

Make sure the lines are clear between the pump and filter and filter and fuel rail.

Incorrect key shuts down fuel delivery too.

Hey Thanks for the help! I've did all of that also. It's sprayed out great at the valve. I've also listened to each injector to see if they were getting fire, and I think th y are. I heard a click on each one of them. So do you have any ideas what to check? Could it be a Circuit or something like that? It's also got a new air filter. And again thanks for the help! I appreciate you..!

First of all you are in the wrong sub forum

Second of all does it continue running after you stop spraying the fluid lmfao we understand that it starts but will it continue running?

Did it run before with the key you are using? (I can't remember how the theft deterrent shuts down fuel - it could be commanding the injectors off)

Fuel pump is pressurizing the rail, that's why you can get a spray of fuel at the test port. Need to put a pressure gauge on it to see where that pressurized fuel is going  or not going or if it strong enough.

Ignition is working otherwise it wouldn't run on starting fluid.

Compressions is probably okay as well as air intake because it wouldn't run on starting fluid with out those.

It sounds like again you are running it on starting fluid because fuel isn't getting into the cylinders. I would recommend swapping the starting fluid for gasoline in a squirt bottle and see that it continues to run.

What was the lead up to the problem(s)?

Don't bother checking fuel pressure its clearly is not getting fuel.

check the fuel pump relay. And if all is good load test the power and ground with a head light bulb at the tank to make sure you have power and ground. And yes use a headlight bulb. headlight bulb draws more amps then a tradition test light

It acted Like it was out of gas,I'm going to try what you said with the gasoline And I'm also gonna check to see if I have water in my guest And again thanks for the help!

Ok, Thanks..

You didn't say if you bought a new fuel pressure regulator so I am assuming you did not? If you want to do a quick $40 check you could go buy a new FPR and see if that fixes your issues.

If you had access to a scan tool I believe that it would tell you if it is some sort of VATS issue like if the truck was not reading the key properly and causing

Kragen's and AutoZone will lend you a fuel pressure gage to test the pressure at the rail.

for background,

1) What made you put a new fuel pump in the truck. (might be a stupid question to you but its not to the people that are helping)?

2) is this truck new to you?

3) if its not new to you, what, if any, changes did you make?

Its not getting (any or enough) fuel into the cylinders. It is getting fuel to the rail, unknown if it is of sufficient pressure. OP noted that fuel is spraying out the test port.

ok you guys are way over thinking this. even if its not getting fuel or not enough fuel. load test the wires going to the pump is gonna tell you both. if you don't have a solid power and ground at the pump you may only have 5 psi. if you don't have  power or ground you might have a relay problem or wiring problem. either way you have to verify the circuit. if you have a high amp head light bulb and it lights up bright i can tell you that pump is junk. but if its dim you have a wiring issue (high resistance wire) fuel pump takes a lot of amps to run them. you cant use an led test light or a multimeter. But i will state this if you do have a good power and ground at the pump it wouldn't hurt taking a fuel sample to make sure there isn't water in the tank. but that fact that you can spray break clean in the throttle body and you can keep it running is telling me the cylinders are not flooded out. i can supply wire diagrams if need be.

Respectfully, I think it would be easier to confirm pump by checking the fuel pressure at the rail. Then begin diagnosing the pump wiring if fault is found with pressure.

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
