I also have a 2021 4wd rst, rear shocks feel poor quality? On corners with bumbs the truck seems to not hold road, slides sidways over bumps. I beleive GM cut some corners on rear shocks of these trucks, Im currently looking for a upgrade also

I have a 2021 Silverado LTZ71 4WD. I like the ride and handling. Based on my experience over 50 years of driving GM trucks, I can recommend the following.

For a very soft ride: Monroe Sensitrac

For a  soft ride: KYB low pressure gas shocks

For a good combination of ride and handling: KYB high pressure gas shocks

For great handling, but  with a harsh  ride: Bilstein

My 21 silverado 2wd has a very spongy ride in the rear and would like to know if changing rear shocks will help, if so what kind should I buy

I think if you ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers.  Mine was as you described.  I have always liked Bilstein shocks and changed the Ranchos out for Bilsteins with about 5K miles on them.  It made a huge difference in ride quality as well as swaying in the turns.  I also added a front a rear Hellwig sway bars and am super happy with the ride as well as the handling.  Money well spent.
