I had to go twice because the first visit, the dealer did TSB 21-NA-228 at my direction but the programming for that didn't work in my truck. When I went yesterday, they did 21-NA-056 and the programming for that one did work. If I would have known about 056 the first time, I wouldn't have had to go twice.

So they charged you for the second one, even though their TSB didn't correct the issue? That's kinda shitty.

For what it's worth, you can disable this with WAMS as well... and have tons of other goodies to boot

Isnt it like 800 bucks? I couldn't tell what all was needed and how long the truck would be down for.

Price has gone up a bit due to chip shortages but not quite 800.  300 for tune and 295 for device $595).  Truck will not be down at all though.  You select the options you want on their web portal and then plug the device into power.  It downloads the new update and then you flash it to the truck.  Takes maybe 10 minutes total.

Some other things that I use.....

  • Auto close/open for sunroof (no need to hold the button)
  • Enable Fogs and DRL for approach lighting at night (no blinding headlights)
  • Removed door chime
  • Set one touch lane change interval to 6 while towing and 5 while not (3 is default)
  • Emergency strobes/Wigwags
  • Windows UP with keyfob

Thanks. I read it that I thought I had to send them the BCM. You don't have any screenshots of the changes that can be made, do you?

You do not need to send the BCM in.  You just make the changes in the portal as shown-->Plug the device into power and let it connect to your WiFi and download the tune-->Plug it into the truck and start the flash process.

Here, you can see I adjusted the Approach Lighting (when you click the keyfob at night).  The DRL, Park Lamps, Reverse, and Turn signals light up.  No eye burning laser headlights :)

So after my 3rd or 4th time with customer service still no luck getting the idle time out shut off.  The have never heard of a TSB before.  There tech department has no idea what I'm talking about.  Tried to explain that I work as a firefighter and I have chevy's on my department with that feature turned off and they still have no idea how.  I'm ready to sell this damn truck.

Do you have the website for this tune?

So I’m looking at getting the idle timer disabled on my truck as well but my service department told me that this TSB did not work on the 2022 limited Sierra 1500 duramax. Is there a different TSB for the 2022 limited or is it not available at all. Thanks for your help.

Getting the same thing from my dealer on my 22 limited. The TSBs referenced in this thread stop at the 21 model year.

I believe 22 and up has a different programming architecture that is basically locked tight from the factory now.  I am not sure anybody has cracked it yet.

So it appears WAMS is out of the programming business. Is there any other options for this? To anyones knowledge?
