Can you add your fuel usage in some comparable value so we see how MPG or fuel consumption relates to your data?

I frequently run 600 miles on a tank, so I'm not sure how to factor that in mpg when it regens 2 or 3 times per fill.

Also will depend on when it last regened, relative to when it go hooked to the trailer.

(meaning, did the soot load start at zero when the tow started?  Probably not)

Fwiw, I don't care how much it regens or when.

As long as I'm happy with the fuel economy and as long as it's not necessary for to do extra driving (or otherwise help 'manage the process) then I'm happy.

Here's the mpg graph.

It is life of vehicle (def doesn't start til about 3500 miles)

'Life of vehicle' fuel mileage for the graphed data is 25.6.

Deep drops are when it was towing.

Actual mileage while towing mpg is worse than shown.  Tow trips less than a full tank, so points are combo tow and not tow.

Trailering app averages show 14 - 16 mpg depending on trailer. (so a little lower than the lows on this chart)

redwngr what brand of diesel fuel do buy at cardlock?

Combined with towing, a blended 25.6 mpg is exceptional.

Do you have access to CO-OP diesel fuels in SW Ontario?  Canadian CO-OP refined diesel fuels and high quality additives are exceptional but sadly mostly available closer to Edmonton and farther west.

SCR systems are ensuring low exhaust emissions but not always optimum operation so any way the owner can to keep the performance of the engine clean up front lowers the stress loading on the filtered DPF and DEF usage.

The lower PM,NOx,HC are sensed in the SCR system the lower the regen and DEF usage will be.

Cleaner burning fuel, lower air flow restriction into intake and lower VGT activity ( acting like a throttle)  to counter all that will be.

Don't forget that I don't have a lot of towing.

Petro-Can is the brand.

Distributer has multiple cardlocks in the area I frequently travel.

They are busy, semi-truck accessible, locations.

They delivered bulk fuel (gasoline and off-road (dyed) diesel) to our location when we were still in business.

When I first started running diesel pickups the volume being used didn't justify another tank for road fuel, so used cardlock for undyed for pickup. (and I didn't want to pay the road tax on the fuel for the off-road engines)

Yes, the revenue types do dip vehicle tanks in the area sometimes.

Yes we have co-op, not sure if that's the same company as your area.

Could have used them instead.  It was just the luck of the draw that we chose who we did when we started getting deliveries about 30 years ago.

I'm not sure if co-op has any cardlocks in my area -- but they do have lots of stations with diesel, and do deliver diesel to tanks at customer locations.

30 years, many diesels, never use additives and have never had fuel (or injection) issues.

Try this,  https://www.fuel.crs/more/petroleum it's Canuck, I can't get this in Colorado.

I use CENEX fuels here because our US CO-OP's are now CountryMark and not as available as before.

I am betting additives in the Canadian CO-OP especially their Premium Diesel is like the CENEX Roadmaster XL.
