2019 water in rear seat storage

I almost bought a 2019 high country last night, but looked in the rear seat back rest storage compartment and found that there was a considerable amount of condensation in there.  Is that where people have identified that thry have the rear window leak? Any long term issues from the leak, or is it not a big deal once it's fixed? My concern, even when it gets fixed, is I don't know how long this leak has existed, and if the seat is ****ed.

Probably the back window. I would stay away from any vehicle that leaked. You don't know for how long and the extent of damage.

The leak has most likely existed since the truck was built. If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer and they should fix it, if not take it to an Auto Glass shop and they will fix it. My dealer tried the first fix and it didn't work, they then took it to a glass shop that replaced the rear window and it's been dry ever since.

Good call looking there.  If there's water in the back rest storage, the water has likely been elsewhere and done its damage already.  I'd NOPE right out of that immediately.  I keep some valuable gear on those storage areas and would be pissed if a found water there.  In one of them I have a handgun.

Yup that was from the rear window leaking. I'd stay away from that one because it sound like it's not been fixed. The original owner may have traded it in just for that reason to.

Even if it's still under warranty you're taking a risk. They will almost assuredly half-ass caulk the window for the first attempt. And possibly make an ugly mess in the process. If that "fix" holds long enough for them to run out the warranty clock, you're replacing your own back window out of pocket when it inevitably leaks again.

 

After the crap I went through with mine, I would never buy a used 2019. Sure, it was sorted out by the time I moved on, but who knows where this 2019 is on the timeline of failures and dealer visits. Get a 2020 or 2021.
