I have taken delivery of my 2021 Sierra 1500 SLE. It's used and has this rotary knob/switch installed. It lights up in different colors when pressed and illuminates all or only a few LEDs when rotated. Any guess?

Brake controller.  More specifically, the Curt Mfg Spectrum series controller - Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller SKU #51170 for $250.58 by CURT Manufacturing (curtmfg.com)

More than likely was installed at the dealer because of the factory trailer brake controller shortage/constraint on these trucks that has been on and off the past year or so.  Its sold via GM dealers under part #19418031 and comes with a plug and play factory fit harness to power it.

Here is the link from GM's accessory sites - Spectrum™ Brake Controller Module by CURT™ Group- Associated Accessories | GMC Accessories

So, not to hi-jack this thread, but I'm curious if this can be installed after the vehicle was sold?  Is there any programming needed?  I have a 2022 1500 GMC Sierra Limited Elevation (Not the refresh model) with no trailer brake option.

The factory one doesn't look like that.

That is the accessory one -- and it's available because the factory one can't be retro-fit.

Newdude posted a link to the page that shows it at GM Accessories.

It's made and warrantied by Curt
