Steering Wheel controls not working.

Recommended Posts

My volume controls are working fine but my iPhone just did the IOS update and now my left hand controls don't work when I am plugged into Apple car play. The left hand controls work fine for changing stations on Sirius XM when not using car play.

Try disconnecting the battery and wait about a 1/2 hour and reconnect. Beyond that go to the dealer.

GM vehicles are glitchy at least my 2014 is a alot of others I read on here about. Best of luck.

I do have this problem here and there. I'll usually plug in my iPhone for carplay and sometimes the volume and skip/backwards rocker stop working. After turning off the truck and restarting it it fixes it. I suspect it's a bug with Carplay software.

Using the traditional radio controls and USB for music, is no problems.

Just a thought to our mods here, but is it really beneficial to have GM Service bots spam this forum with the same canned response to every situation?

I agree with your thoughts, however alot of people are not getting good advice, service, honesty or proper diagnostic procedures from their dealers leaving them feeling lost, frustrated and hopeless. Its not just GM dealers either. If these bots can help some induviduals to get help finally getting their trucks fixed then the bots are a necessary and helpful evil IMO.

I have a 2024 Chevy 2500 HD and this happens every single trip after about 30 minutes.  The only thing I found to get it to work again is to shut the truck off for 10 minutes.  There has to be another way.  We can't just pull over and shut down for 10 minutes every time the seek forward and reverse buttons on the steering wheel decide to stop working.  I cannot understand paying 80k for a 2024 truck in 2023 to not have the radio buttons work.  A band new vehicle, especially a future model year, should not have these types of issues.  Vehicles are way too expensive nowadays to have issues like this.
