Well I am brand loyal.

Know why ?

I just bought my 17th and 18th Chevy truck.

The LTZ is a 5.3 and the High Country is a 6.2.

Am I concerned? Not in the least bit.

I've never had a major issue except a head gasket on a 03 Duramax LB7. Failed at 200,000 miles. Still drove it for a month bottle feeding it anti freeze daily.

Big deal. I was ready for a new truck anyway.

I've got almost 3 million miles under my belt driving Chevys.

I've been left on the side of the road 3 times in 43 years.

That's brand loyal.

W0W. I bought new ever two- three years since 91. I’ve had all the brands. New and used before that for work. 3/4 and one ton for pulling until 97 half ton after. One truck left me standing a 94 V-10 Ram. If I wasn’t hooked up to my gooseneck I could have nursed it home. It got fixed under warranty. I’ve had a few more Chevys because of prices. Every one didn’t matter the brand had something that wasn’t perfect. I’d probably would have had more Fords the dealer suck. I didn’t like any stock I modified all of them mild to wild. Toyota makes the best across the board, cars, trucks, hybrid. I generally didn’t keep them long enough to pay their premium for trucks. The others vary  in reliability, luck of the draw. I have four different brands right now, I’m not brand loyal. My favorite factory  stock was my trailblazer ss. As a work vehicle. My favorite ride in changed in the last few day the TRX. If that truck can stay together under our shop Forman for 100K miles. Ram will become my favorite. There’s nothing in comparison.

That there is about 187,000 per unit. 🤔 Why do you trade them in just as you are getting them broke in?

One truck I bought used 86 Chevy half ton 2wd 305 , I used it for work  I bought in 88 with 90,000 miles on it. I drove it to the junkyard four years later with 410,000 miles on it.

All it ever needed was a new carb, battery and a timing chain besides brakes and tires.

Never had issues with chevy myself and have abused the living hell out of them and neglected them.  Had a honda that blew up on me and it was a gutless POS.

I would like to see more readers vote to get an idea of how common this is on 1500 V8 trucks with AFM or

DFM. My GM service manager says it is about 10%.  I am not sure how accurate that is.

From what ive been asking it occurs to those doing oil changes beyond 3 or 4k miles at a time as the system relies on good quality fresh oil.   Its basically failures due to neglect.  Im closing in on 200k miles on one of my 2021 6.2 trucks without a hiccup.
