CarPlay cuts out on and off when first connected

This has been driving me nuts since I picked up my 2022 in December. I've done all the updates on my phone and truck, but about 80% of the time when I first get in my truck and hit the road with music or a podcast playing my music will cutout about 2 or 3 times within the first few minutes of driving. It doesn't pause the music or anything, the audio just drops. It's not the end of the world but really annoying when I'm jamming or trying to listen to a podcast.

My 16 and 19 had carplay and this was never an issue. All my cords are OEM apple. Anyone else have this issue and/or a fix?

I believe you'll have the same issue when playing XM, or FM, or any audio source as this is a known issue with GM and they are saying they are working on a fix and dealers should just advise owners that GM is aware of the issue.

well I don't know what to think about that haha. But I guess glad they're aware.

I do believe it goes deeper than just the radio as I have noticed when it cuts out the directional sound goes away as well when it's being used.

With that said, does your truck audio cut in/out to the point where there's completely no audio for minutes on?

No, it cuts out when first started, about 3-4 times for 1-2 seconds each time.

2023 AT4, same thing, everytime I start it, XM radio. Usually quits by the time I'm out of the driveway and headed down the street

Same here with my 23 AT4. I mainly use the YouTube music app on the GM infotainment, but it does this with all audio sources that I’ve tried. As other have said, GM is aware and looking into a solution.

I don't use anything other than CarPlay so I had no idea it affected every source! I always figured it was when my phone was switching connections as I drove away from the house. If it's more widespread hopefully it's something an OTA can fix.
