I have installed a GM console safe, although it has a rubber gasket where the lid interfaces with the storage area, the metal locking mechanism that fits into a metal slot rattles due to a designed gap. Does anyone have any suggestions to correct?

Thanks, Jeff

I have 3 of these safes and not one rattles. Even in the 3500drw lumber wagon!

Maybe one wrap of tesa tape around the latch?

Hate to intrude, but can you leave the safe unlocked or does it automatically lock every time you close it?

Thanks for your replies, I will try the tape suggestion. The knob is plastic but the locking mechanism is all metal. It gives you some piece of mind when you valet park and may discourage the amateur thief, but someone that is determined to gain entry, could probably do so. You have the option of leaving it unlocked if you want.

Thanks - I just found they don't make one for the 2023's yet.

I was thinking about adding one.

Where did you find that info?

Had been considering at order time too -- it's listed in the order guide without any notes about restriction.

It's LPO (dealer installed), even if factory ordered so decided to wait.
