It -appears- that my soon-to-be-mine 2024 Sliverado 1500 has the 7-pin connector only and the two trailer camera connectors. Is there no 4-pin connector anywhere? Should I consider an adapter for the 7-pin connector?

Chevys have only had 7 pin connectors for decades.

A 7 to 4 pin connector is very common.

My old envoy only had a 7 pin and I used a conversion plug on it and had no problems with it. my 23 RST doesn't have the high enough trim for the trailer camera provision at the bumper so I have the 7 and 4 pin plugs but just buy a cheap adapter and you will be just fine.

If it has the camera inputs you will need one if you have trailers that use 4 pin.

Camera inputs are in the flat connector location.

I have use both a 7 round to 4 flat and a 7 round to 5 flat.

I think mine are from Curt

I believe the technology package only has the 7 pin and camera jacks. Just use the 7 to 4 adaptors. Been using one for years in my fleet, no issues.

You can have both today too.

It's standard on all but WT, and it can be added to WT.

Camera provisions replace the 4 pin.

What's funny is that the truck I'm trading is a 2015 and it has both.  :)

Yes, camera inputs, and those are clearly in the position on the wiring connector where the 4-flat would be. I ordered an adapter that has both a 4-pin and 5-pin connected molded into it. Just seems odd that GM would not include the adapter if it wasn't molded into the connector on the bumper...

Thanks for the info on this!

I threw a few of them away not long ago because I had 5 or 6 of them and they were just getting in the way.

I tried several different ones and they all threw a trailer light code. This is the only one I could get to work for my truck.

Interesting.

When did the code appear? When the adapter was inserted or after the trailer was connected? I'm wondering if I should take a ride to U-Haul and ask them if I can connect one of their trailers to test the adapter before my return window runs out.

Honestly I don't think I can answer that part. I know when I hooked it up to the trailer and got in I got error messages. I do believe this one works better because the "inner" connections are all there and on the cheaper adapters only a few connections were there with the other slots just empty.

GM accessories sells one (made by Curt) for about US $10 or $12  (C$15)

No cable on it.

Pics from Curt site:

(they also have one that converts to 5 flat for some boat trailer applications)
