Trying to hardwire my dash cam in my 2024 RST and the stuff I bought off of Amazon does not fit into the fuse receptacles. There is absolutely no way to insert them far enough to make contact, even with no fuses in adjacent positions. So... does anyone know of Micro2 Fuse Taps that will actually work in this truck? Or, am I skipping the hardwiring? :)

I used these on my 2022 LTD. Worked great. https://amzn.to/49r7Jis (I may earn commission from associate Link)

Here is my install video:

Interesting. Those don't appear to be any longer than the ones I have and mine won't go into the fuse block anywhere near deep enough to make contact with the terminals.

When I installed my fog lights I got the correct taps at NAPA.

I might try that route so I can compare what they have against the ones I have to see if theirs will press further in and make contact.

On my 2020 micro minis off of Ebay or Amazon worked fine, not sure if the newer truck is somehow different.

Thanks... I gave up. :)

I'm not wasting any more time trying to hardwire it... I have the included cable routed and plugged into the USB port on the dash. It fires up when I unlock the truck and stays on with RAP when I shut the truck off. Works pretty much the same as what I was going for with hardwiring anyway and considerably less expensive.

I’m guessing these are the correct ones. I haven’t looked in my fuse box the see the fuse type. Hi line has all the different type of fuse tap (add a circuit). If you don’t have a Hilo e rep up there then go to their online ordering. If not and all else fails dm me back and I’ll send you some.

The package says Micro as opposed to Micro2, so not sure... Still, I gave up. Dash cam is installed and using the USB port. Works how I want.

They have which ever one you need that  will fit your fuse block. I case you decide to go the hardwire direction

Why? My truck has Micro2 and Micro3 fuses - why won't the Micro2 work (I am unable to get them to insert and make contact)?

This is what I am personally using..  It was a tight fit but I can get it in and out with a little bit of work.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08WL7TRY3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks... Out of curiosity...

Why the three-prong taps instead of the two-prong ones?

And

Which fuses did you insert them into for constant power? For switched power?

The hardwire kit for my dash cam is under $20, so I would consider still adding it down the road if it were actually easy to get these stupid things to work. :)
