I have a 2023 GMC AT4 and the transmission went tit's up driving across the country with my 5th Wheel.  Now 1200 miles from home the dealer in Lake Havasu tells me the valve body needs replaced and expect to be without a truck for 5 months or more while waiting for part.  To add insult to injury their telling me GMC will only get me a $46 dollar rental car with Enterprise not a truck.  Even more insult Enterprise lowest price is $55 so I have to cover the difference and not be able to tow etc.  I will be contacting an attorney sounds like a class action needs to be filed.  You buy a $90k truck and get treated like no big deal 5 months maybe longer.  Disappointed i bought it now.

If you contact them you will get a response from a real person.  It's debatable whether they actually provide any help.

Add another person in the same boat. My 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with 10k miles had the transmission go out last week. First I lost reverse and then while driving to the dealer it went into limp mode. Been waiting for 5 days for the dealer to officially diagnose the issue.

Confirmed it’s my valve bodies. There are none available and there is no ETA as to when they will become available. At this point I go to the back of the line and wait…..what is likely months.

Lemon law should work in your case if its in the shop more than 30 days

Check out the lemon law in your state. In Michigan if it's under warranty and they can't fix it for over 30 days, you can ask for a buyback. Also remember there's always someone higher up at GM to contact. Don't let them tell you differently. Start with the customer service number at GM to get a case number. Ask for your case to be expedited if you have special circumstances. Ours happened when we were on vacation.

If you have this issue while it is under warranty, call GM directly at 1-800-462-8782 and start a case, they will refund you the auto payment. We had a rental for a few days and returned it because it was a tiny SUV. They tried getting us into a loaner but we didn't pick it up. We were told there were 15 vehicles at our dealership ahead of us just last week and this week we were told the part came in.

Return the rental if you can and call GM directly at 1-800-462-8782 and start a case, they can potentially refund you the auto payment or move your vehicle to the front of the line. I think this is was happened with our because we were just informed there were 15 other vehicles in front of ours.

Quick update - Got GM customer care involved yesterday and advised them when this hits 30 days on 11-30 I will be looking to make a lemon law claim. They called me back today and advised me the valve bodies were shipped today and the dealer will have them next week.

Really incredible how many responses this thread enabled with the same issue. I feel for every one of you guys…hopefully y’all are back up and running soon! And I concur everyone’s resentment of how GM is treating us…just ain’t right.
