Have you checked the gear oil in the front diff? Both my front diff's were low from new.

2022 Chev 3500 Gas with AutoTrac 2-Speed Transfer Case 59k mi.

I have a similar noise. Has been to dealer 3 times now and so far they've removed each drive shaft, then test drove and it's still there. They connected both the pico scope and chassis ears and pico didn't show anything. Chassis ears point to transfer case. The transfer case and transmission fluids have no debris. They are reluctant to open the transfer case or transmission without knowing that's where the issues is. When monitoring the torque converter on the scan tool, it is within specs for slip.

Anyone have insight? The noise is at low RPM when you tip into the accelerator and a faint come and go drone when driving on highway. Is getting worse as I drive it.

Are you hearing this noise in 2HI or AUTO?

Under warranty?

If so, the good news is if its getting worse, you eventually won't have to guess what is making the noise.

I know - not real helpful - but sometimes I have used the approach that if you are reluctant to TRY something and hope it fixes it, it doesn't hurt to wait for the problem to manifest itself in a manner you can more confidently diagnose.

Some might say this is opening yourself up to worse damage - so is tearing open a transmission to find nothing wrong $$$.

Replacing transfer case. Told me they actually ordered one a couple weeks ago? Told me there was a bearing that went out but mentioned water? But still warranty... I have questions... Never drove through more water than puddles in the road.

Replaced transfer case with reman. Leaking out put shaft seal now... Back at dealer.

Noise is same as this video at 1:20

Happens in 2wd, Auto, 4hi..

They say they've ruled out torque converter???

Any help is appreciated.

I have the same truck and same problem.  It happened slowly over time and got worse as time went on…. Took it to dealer with 6000mi still on warranty.  They thought it was tear end, replaced it… nope… they kept it 7 WEEKS!! and could never find the problem.  Tried Picos thing and everything…. Said they couldn’t do anymore… I picked it up and was told it was not any part on truck.  I took it to an independent transmission shop and had tranny services….. noise GONE!! Gone for 8000miles and it just now started again…. Now what?!!!!
