Unexplained paint chips

Since buying new 5 years ago, I periodically discover these little paint chips (not on the front of my truck but on the sides… i currently only have 35k miles and it’s a 2020 LTZ. I always hand wash and take great care of it so I have no clue how I keep getting these chips. Wondering if it is just the paint or if anyone had any ideas

Something hit them. Weed eater slinging small pebbles or something, lawn mower, BB gun etc. I can see the divot. The chip is from out to in nothing with the paint from in to out.

Rocks can hit the ground and fly up side ways on the roads too.

Yes travel on gravel roads can easily cause such chip damage to paint as CamGTP suggests.

Could also be from debris kicked by or falling off other vehicles.
