Is 2027 GMC Yukon Getting a 682-HP Supercharged V8?

2027 NHTSA filings maybe just let a massive, supercharged cat out of the bag. Is General Motors is finally dropping the Cadillac Escalade-V’s hand-built LT4 engine into the GMC Yukon? It sure seems like it.

I dunno. Car and Driver heard back from GM and GM debunked so far. 2027 GMC Yukon Not Getting Supercharged V-8: No Typhoon Redux

So I say its 50/50. Either there is nothing coming, or, they will "pull" the info until they launch, IF they launch an LT4 powered Yukon.

You buy a V-8 from Ford you can get up to 775HP. I know of two in my family. Our shop Forman had the kit installed from the dealer on a 5.0 work truck. It beat my brother’s super snake truck. I guess once GM figures out how to keep the 6.2 together maybe they’ll add more HP.

i saw a window sticker for a 2024 Escalade with a SC 6.2L and the sticker was +$150K.

There won't be many sitting on the lots, even if the dealer gets an allocation for one.

Put this HP without sacrificing torque on a chassis that can tow a 18000lb trailer! I don't need or want an f#^^%$g pickup.

Ford doesn't make any SUV's with a V-8.

True. But if you’re looking for performance and max pulling in an SUV. Fords V6 beats the GM SUV to 60 by more than a second and tows more. If you want more a tune will add more.

I'm looking for longevity. V-8 Suburbans statistically last longer than V-6 Fords.

You may want to do a little research on 6.2s since 2020. I’m not interested in either myself. The Shelby Supersnake f-150 my brother drives has been flawless. As well as the Raptor R his son drives. And the Regular Cab f-150 with the Roush Supercharger package our shop Forman drives. My other brothers Escalade that his wife’s drives has been fine so far. It’s a 2019. They’re supposed to be ok. The chart seems suspect to me. I have a Ridgeline and an Odyssey with over 165K that have been flawless.
